Dallas Morning News endorses Hillary; First Democratic endorsement in 75 years
The Dallas paper joins the Houston Chronicle in endorsing Hillary. This comes on the heels of a Washington Post/SurveyMonkey poll that had Hillary winning Texas yesterday.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/...story.html

I don't think Texas is in play just yet but it's an eventuality.

Quote:Breaking with decades of encouraging readers to vote for the Republican presidential candidate in the general election, the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday endorsed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, whose editorial board previously suggested was not a real Republican.

"We don't come to this decision easily. This newspaper has not recommended a Democrat for the nation's highest office since before World War II — if you're counting, that's more than 75 years and nearly 20 elections," the editorial board wrote. "The party's over-reliance on government and regulation to remedy the country's ills is at odds with our belief in private-sector ingenuity and innovation. Our values are more about individual liberty, free markets and a strong national defense."

Based on that rationale, shouldn't they have endorsed Gary Johnson?

The city of Dallas was historically Republican, much more so than any of the other major cities in Texas. But it has flipped to Democrat with the Republicans moving to Collin County. DMN has flipped with the population.

I guess using hammers to destroy the blackberries was just enough for the DMN to push them over the top for Hillary.

I'd have the most respect for any newspaper that chooses to withhold an endorsement for either candidate.

Texas looks like it will replace Ted Cruz-- who is brilliant though I strongly disagree with him in many areas-- with dimwitted Rick Perry, their former 5 term governor. Oh and they're home to Louie Gohmert, the dumbest member of Congress.

Wow, this is what Crooked Hilary's supporters are excited about? Newspapers became irrelevant and I doubt influence many whether they endorse Dems or Republicans. Will be interesting to see how many subscribers they lose because crooked Hillary is not liked in Texas.(except Austin of course)

Actually we're excited about our candidate still being the heavy favorite in virtually all forecasts and betting markets.

Forgive me if I thought a major newspaper breaking 75 year old tradition is more noteworthy than "Cough Cough Cough Cough Cough" or "Dr. Drew Cancelled."
