I am going to have to say Case Keenum is the best we faced even though we were two years from being in CUSA. He was and was very good.

RE: Who was the best opposing player you've seen in Conference USA
Deangelo Williams was the first name that came to mind as I read the thread title.
Other names that I have not seen mentioned that I remember really respecting their games were...
QB David Garrard, ECU
The Paul Smith (QB) to Garrett Mills (TE/HB) connection for Tulsa (insert spell it backwards joke here)

In basketball the names that stick out the most go back a few years and may even pre-date CUSA...
Elliot Perry, G, Memphis (goggles and high socks, a slick skin and bones lefty)
LaBradford Smith, G, Louisville (tremendous athlete)
Diego Guevara, G, UNCC (not sure if that is how you spell his name, but I dont think he ever missed a shot vs Southern Miss)
Kenyon Martin, F, Cincy (dude could leap into the rafters, and really improved his game during his career with the 'Cats)

Devon Johnson alone lifted Marshall over the FAU Owls two years ago when we gave them quite a battle.

The ghost of Devon Johnson may hit you this year. Marshall picked up a late signee in Anthony Anderson, the kid is a 6'2, 248 pound RB. If he can run like Johnson he could terrorize CUSA for 3 years. He has 3 years to play 3 at Marshall.

He will see a much different defense. Perhaps, the best in the C-USA.

that was the recently murded Jonathan Mills....he was OUR only other version of 'Spoon

but it's football season.....get ya some of this black and gold....

and someone please tell me how Mullens can't run....this game may be his best to date and that "team" from top to bottom....how he floats the ball is unteachable....watching Ito, Richard, and Reed (and others) was as good as it gets.....

Not sure he's talking about Millsy. 3 years ago would be more like Michael Craig probably. Both badasses.
