RE: Question
As of today, I think losing Southern Miss and UTEP would hurt the most.

Southern Miss has the best overall history and tradition of any C-USA school, so whatever prestige is left in the league would take a pretty large hit. Good Olympic sports too with a great baseball program.

Losing UTEP would be a major blow to basketball. Also, in the rare seasons when the Miners have a good football team, they've been known to draw 40-50k crowds. I don't think another program in the league has that potential.

RE: Question
Losing Marshall football imo would be the biggest blow to CUSA. In terms of single fan, losing Jayseagle would be a blow CUSA would never recover from.(ribbing ya guy)

RE: Question
I'm going to be serious and say Southern Miss. Founding member, and more football history and tradition than the majority of CUSA combined.

RE: Question
brand wise usm (athletical brand)

atheltic capability wise Marshall, the non-qs give them the ability to compete and carry c-usa on most years, remove marshall and their could be c-usa years that could be really really bad if others dont step up

wku isnt a big lose today but with the recent success in fball and projected in bball, in a few years wku might be the biggest perception hit athletically

top to bottom all things considered: my final answer is rice, you dont take an athletic hit with rice but rice in c-usa protects c-usa from being dragged in ways they arent now..rice is preventing a lot of academic slander, as well as prestige slander, right now.. anyone comes at c-usa from those angles, you can always say rice a top 20 university is in our league

remove rice and the prestige goes with it...and the c-usa perception if they dont win could really being something negative even on the academic level as far reputation and the "types of teams that are in c-usa" etc...

not a dig just my opinion..
