If you said you did have talks, you are admitting you are turning you back on the MAC. You become the outsider. You also admit to your fans that you are trying to get out and then if nothing happens you look like an idiot and lose face. You are saying where we are at sucks, and I didn't get us out of it.

He had that video not too long ago about how NIU needs to strive to reach a better conference, and then realignment rolls around and he acts like he's sitting on his hands? I don't think so

Yea, that's what I was confused with. I can't stand coach speak, and how he tells the media what they want to hear. I know it's what has to be done, however, they might as well not even interview him because it's almost guaranteed that he's not going to hint at a single thing.

I'm not sure I'm understanding the second part of the question, but honestly this news threw me for a loop. There is no way, NO WAY talks were not had. If that's true, STF needs to be ran out of town because that would mean during a crucial realignment period he sat on his hands and did nothing. I don't buy that, what i fear is the talks may have shut down and so he is playing dumb so as not to have egg on his face if nothing happens for NIU... that is my biggest fear

Just checking your opinion if 1) NIU is simply a replacement team for a departed AAC team or if there 2) is some larger scale talks among more elite teams from multiple conferences working together to form an even better conference?

Of course a talk shut down could end all of this

Oh, gotcha. NIU was always a backfill candidate, from my understanding. No super conference talk I've heard, but my source probably wouldn't be privy to that kind of information. That's some airport meeting, cloak and dagger kind of stuff

Are you "talking to the AAC" if you are talking to an AD/President who's school is in the AAC? The school AD/Presidents are the ones that have to vote to invite and accept a new member.

STF has not been talking to AAC, because he has been job interviewing all summer long

Artful hairsplitting is always a viable explanation when it comes to discussing things that happen in private.

SF might not have directly talked to anyone in the AAC but one of the associate ADs might have.

You can't say anything in public if you are a school official. Hell even Cincy, Memphis, BYU, Houston have not admitted to talking to the Big 12. Even though we all know they have.
