I'll start by saying I'm happy to be in cusa. I think most of the AAC talk is coming from other fan bases and that's what is eating away at flyhawk. The most insulting thing in this thread is the comparison to ecu fans, some of them are just absurd with the sht they say. Anyone else ready for the season to start?

WTH? 4 pages bashing ODU fans because our football coach said he thought we'd finish higher than 6th and we were a bit disrespected? Seems a bit of an over reaction, but whatever. From what I saw, a decent chunk of our fans said it was a fair pre-season rank, and that Coach Wilder needed to win more before complaining. As someone else stated, be glad you guys don't have to deal with VCU if you think ODU and ECU fans are bad.

Are you sure about that? It's more like 60%. Also, in those 17 years, they had just 9 winning seasons. But yes, they did win 2 Conference Championships in 17 years. In those 2 years, they finished 9-5. How tough was the conference if the champion each year finished 9-5? In those two years they only won two out of conference FBS games.

Higher level math allows one to calculate that we have more donations/non- subsidized revenue and ticket revenue than any school in C-USA.

Where in the world do you get the stat that ecu won 80% of their CUSA conference games while in the league? They were in CUSA from 1997-2013, played 126 conference games, and went 80-46 in those games. That's 63.5%.

There's absolutely items in VA schools budgets that wouldn't be in schools in other states, the legislature requires it.

Yeah, the donations are a fuzzy area. For example, Marshall raised $30MM in private donations to build the soccer field and IPF. I am a donor in that endevour and have, like most, been paying my pledge in equal installments over a 5 year period with the last installment due this year. The donation was to the Vision Campaign, which doesn't flow through the AD budget, but rather through the foundation. Therefore, that $30MM never showed in the USA Today data for any year. I would imagine some schools would run those donations for capital projects that are directly tied to athletics through the AD while others would do like Marshall and run it through their foundation.

The amount reflected in donations for Marshall directly syncs to the amount collected by the Big Green Scholarship Foundation. It does not include donations to the various sports booster clubs (such as the Gridiron Club or Football Enhancement Fund for football) or funds raised for specific capital projects.

I saw this post earlier and was going to comment that this won't end well. I see its up to 4 pages now. I'm going to read it now and I have a feeling it's going to be interesting. Not sure that ODU fans are too big for their britches. They know they are not that good. At least they should. Hell I predicted when they were joining that they will never beat us... Ever. I admit I didn't see what happened with their coach but now I'm curious.
