As Muther stated, I was referring to the outcome of the game. Yes we did get beat by New Hampshire a while back, but that was during the dark years of Mark Snyder.
I say pimp away because that would be the best case scenario for CUSA losing either ODU or Charlotte. Basketball would be a lost but nothing compare to losing USM or Marshall
I think it will be two Big 12 adds BYU and Cincy
True, you wont have to worry about us beating you in most every sport we play if we left. Bye Felicia
I don't even know what that means. These kids today with these sayings and pictures.....
I do know ODU has 0 winning seasons, 0 bowls and 0 Conference basketball championships since joining CUSA.
Meanwhile Tech has had back to back bowl and 9 win seasons, 2 CUSA regular season basketball Championships and an appearance in the NCAA baseball regionals
La Tech > ODU

To be fair.. At that point he is talking about having to replace our kick returner and that play happens to be a kick return touchdown. So, it does make some bit of sense.

Except on the field/court.
ODU 1-0 vs La Tech in football
ODU 3-1 vs La Tech in Basketball since we joined the conference.

Lots of homerism. I think Marshall will be doing well to keep the 10+ win streak going. Too many question marks to expect a championship let alone be #2 for the access bowl. The team has lots of potential, but like doc says. "Potential doesn't win games"
I think Marshall probably loses Louisville, Pitt, Southern Miss, and a head scratcher in cusa(doc always does). Hope I'm wrong. The Louisville game sets up nicely for an upset but I don't expect it.

I thought last year was going to be the re-building year, and it was.
I think we will be much better this season.

He said it was a homer pick. And also laid out how difficult it was going to be. Other than ranking the Herd #2 his analysis was pretty spot on. He talked about how hard the schedule was both non-conference and in conference this year. He also talked about needing pieces or players to step up at multiple positions. His ranking was the only homerism in my opinion.
Personally I don't see us doing worse than 9-3 in this regular season. 12-0 isn't out of the realm of possibility but going to be incredibly tough to do that though. Heck we couldn't do it in 2014 with a lot easier schedule. The opportunity is there this season. But, it'll take a lot of things falling into place. 2017 we should make a better run at it.

I generally agree with his analysis, but it doesn't line up with the ranking(which is the main point of the segment according to its title). That's the reason I reiterated the homerism. Not trying to be overly critical, just agreeing with his own admission of homerism.
Due to all the unproven starters that we will have this year I am expecting an 8 or 9 win season. More is very possible, but I would rather go in with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised than the reverse.
We can revisit this October 2nd, that's when we'll start to know who this team is. If Marshall is at 3-1 or 4-0 at that point we are in for a special access bowl conversation type season.

I tired to do the lower expectations thing during the Snyder years. Somehow I'd still get burnt by them and be disappointed. So if I'm just going to be let down no matter what.. I'll take my let down with some spiked kool aid haha

When we beat Vandy watch out for MT. When we blow out Vandy you can just surrender right then and there.

Beating Louisville and Pitt would be huge for us. I think beating those two would give us some wiggle room on a conference loss.
You missed my point. You have to win the conference to get the access bowl. I'm saying if we drop a conference game we likely won't win the division, which means we won't win the conference, which means we can't get the access bowl. WKU, Marshall, and MTSU are going to be in a tight race (if not more schools than that). Any CUSA loss could easily throw the losing team immediately out of contention.
Since Marshall joined C-USA, last season is the only year the champion didn't have a conference loss.
And the two years prior to that we had one conference loss in reg season and won it once and lost it once. Had WKU had no other conference losses in CUSA in 2014 we don't even go to the CCG. This isn't the same conference as before. Top 2-3 teams can easily make a run and knock the others out. Lot easier to go undefeated in division when 4-5 teams in each division are scraping the bottom. In the prior edition of CUSA you had UCF, Tulsa, ECU, USM, Houston, and occasionally us or Memphis or UAB as spoilers in a twelve team conference. Now we have 4-5 teams worth a damn in any given year out of 14. Best win em all.

What flavor of Koolaide are you drinking? I want some before UCF season starts.. LOL
I see us winning 4 or 5, but with some good beverage might be able to get us to a 7 win year. I think Marshall will be pretty good this year, but don't think you will get close to a 12-0. 10-2 will be a great year for you guys.
