Time to add Buffalo :) Our hoops have become the best in the MAC our football has been getting more structurally sound for a few years and institutionally we are the biggest and best school in the MAC (HT to Ohio and Miami who are quality but not big research centers)

I wouldn't be surprised if the talk of adding a new school is to replace Baylor. If they kick Baylor out and add say BYU do we want Baylor ?

RE: so, who are we losing?
I think Cincy, Memphis, and the two Florida schools. Market sizes and growth potential after acceptance. Academics are as good as most Big12 schools. Still think UConn winds up in the B1G or the ACC somehow.

I don't see how you pass on UConn really. Maybe they will end up in the ACC.

RE: so, who are we losing?
they want a new team in by 2017 season (meaning an invite in the next few months)..another meeting before october
2 or 4 on the table

5 criteria he listed-
1) do you win in football and basketball 2) academic ranking 3) fanbase 4) market 5) brand
..and he mentioned this after he added this in this speech so ill count it as a 6th
6) team that can grow in the big 12/growth potential

side note, anyone here think the acc is plotting against the aac?..the timing of the acc network announcement was an coincidental ads houstons pac-12 talk announcement.. but aac collapse eras now an 2011 revolve around acc meddling

No. NIU first.

I've staked this claim for far too long

Saw it stated this is about tradition of winning in both basketball and football. Cinci fits that along with whom? Maybe UCONN? BYU? UCF???? USF???? Temple?? Memphis?
I have seen it written OSU does not want Houston. Another Texas school. Big 12 already has Texas locked up. Temple could be a high choice

houston is a top school and has what the other schools dont, and that is politics ..numerous senators and the govenor of texas have already gave "warnings" that if the big 12 should expand one of them had better be Houston..aka the people in charge of their funding
trying to discredit houston when houston is positioned rather well and almost a lock if 14 is what they decide
