Exactly. The PAC will still be around in 50 years. The Big 12 might not exist in 5.

I've said it before, Houston would be better served in the PAC and it makes sense for the PAC as well. If Houston did go to the PAC, I'd expect SMU to go with them. Good basketball and now that SMU is coming around again in football, they're good there as well.

This would give the PAC access to the Houston and Dallas/Ft Worth DMA's.

Is the PAC 12 on the verge of expanding?

Only way the PAC moves into Texas is if Bevo is part of the deal. Which means the whole LHN thing has to be worked out in advance (not easy). And then the question is, does UT want to bring a little brother along with them, and if so, which one.

What would be good for you guys is if Texas and OU go to the B1G. Then you'll be more attractive than the religious schools of Texas to the Pac and would be a good option along with Tech and OSU. I could see them taking TCU as well just for the Dallas Market. A Texahoma foursome would be valuable to the Pac, more valuable than a KSU and ISU expansion.

Then they have two divisions. All the new schools Desert/Mountain and the original Pac-8.

As a Houston fan this leak means we are striking out on both the Pac an Big 12. We try to scare the Big 12-4+2 into taking us and it just looks bad. I think it's a weak play and should have just been kept under the radar.

The Big12-4+3 isn't expanding to 12.

LOL. Why would McMurphy be scared? Not a fan of his but IF Houston was making progress with the PAC there would be no need to broadcasted during Big12 meetings.
The PAC trumps the Big12 and would move Houston ahead of the other Texas teams in the B12.
This was just not a good move by Houston.

This is correct (as have we). All of the non-P5 periodically have discussions with P5 conferences, in case an opportunity may arise.
