PAC won't expand into Texas without UT as one of the 2 teams and Oklahoma being the other. Laugh all you want but they will take Hawaii, csu, or New Mexico down the road. Larry Scott is big on opening ties to Asia and Hawaii fits the bill. The pac is snobbish and won't add city schools like Boise and Houston.

They wont take Hawaii. They can open ties into Asia without Hawaii. The Chinese don't care about Hawaii, neither do the Aussies. No need for CSU with CU there. The state of Texas in any capacity is more valuable than CSU or New Mexico.

Pax 12 is all about land grant state schools with 2 big exceptions. Furd and U$C. Note they have Washington/Washington st, Oregon/Oregon state, Arizona/Arizona state. I hate csu but with the buffs there they are on the radar if bevo doesn't join.

I think it would be fantastic for UH to get in the PAC, but you may want to slow down as your AD requested the meeting, does not seem like there is much to this story at all.

Oh I know trust me I'm not packing my bags.

That said they didn't have to agree to the meeting let alone confirm it took place. For me that does set this above the usual rumors but well below an invite.

Am I missing something, because I really don’t understand the story here?

If every school in the AAC’s AD’s haven’t been in contact with the P5 conferences from time to time if for nothing else than to confirm their interest in the conference and doing a little “look at all the great things we’ve done at (your university name here)” selling of your program then they aren’t doing their job.

If we're honest, it's more like the table you put the weird aunt, uncle, and cousins at who are just a little too weird. Not all the way with the kids, but definitely not with it enough to have a seat with the family.
