I would love a good, centrist Republican candidate I could get behind. As much as I might disagree with them on issues like abortion, guys like Huntsman and Kasich come to mind. The 2016 election was sitting there on a tee for a guy like Kasich. He wanted to talk about the economy and bringing both sides together. Instead, the right got behind Cruz (so far right it's scary) and Trump (the only guy people dislike more then Hillary) and my vote is going to the left yet again.

i was brought up in a union household and am still a registered democrat. I often vote democrat in local but the democrat party is a freak show at the national level. We keep getting the corrupt machine members and complex bozos like Gore and Kerry who live in a parallel universe.

The reality is that only time a liberal reaches across the aisle tax wise is to reach into my conservative pocket for more taxes..

Most government taxation and spending, (especially in one-party cities like Minneapolis and Saint Paul and, really, in de facto one-party states like Minnesota) exists primarily to take wealth from the producing class and give it away. And they give it away not so much to people who need it as much as back to the political class.

Case in point. Here you have a city with very strict gun laws... and CRIMINALS (which most of these homicides and injuries can be attributed to, since I haven't seen a terrorist or 'separatist' or Klan member or 'crazy' person attack there in the news... maybe I missed it?) still have guns.

Of course leftists will claim that they are buying guns from other states, and that may be true... but since those other states don't have the same problems, OBVIOUSLY it's not about the access to guns, but about what criminals DO with them.

When politicians start focusing on stopping criminals with guns, THEN it will cease to be 'exploitation' of an event.
