Scott had the 8th best time in event 1 (100 meters). So far, he has the 7th best long jump.

In the women's Long Jump final, after the 1st jump, it's Bartoletta, Reese and Saunders. Funmi fouled on her first attempt.

Interesting that 3rd through 8th are all collegiate athletes. Very rare for an event that takes years to perfect (so many events are technique based).

RE: USA Olympic Trials (Track & Field) - Day 2
It looks like he had 4193 points on his first day a couple of weeks ago when he won the Gold at the Pan American Combined Events Cup. So he's a bit behind his pace when he finished with 7726 points. Trey Hardee obviously isn't 100 percent so it does appear that at least 1 spot will go to a collegian. It seems that Filip is a bit of a longshot still to make the team (plus doesn't he need 8100 points to qualify for the Olympics?) but he's obviously doing very well in the last couple of weeks and is really setting himself for a great junior and senior season the next two years.
