all of our players who made the regional all tourney team were draft eligible, and all but one a senior. So we may have some talent left, but...

Otto wasn't draft eligible. He made the all-regional team. DiCaprio made the all-regional team too.

Don't know how I missed those guys, but the fact remains that 4/6 are reportedly leaving, so the young team thing may or may not pan out for next year. But glad to see DiCaprio on there

Not really, as we had a relatively young team. The majority of our best players were underclassmen.

You just made one. Half of our infield, our starting catcher and two of our starting outfielders (at least including Wunderlich for part of the season). There's a reason why 2 of 3 draft eligible pitchers were drafted and none of our five position players were.

Love how you cut and paste a quote of mine from a week ago and an entirely different thread to serve your purpose. Classy. 03-banghead

??? Otto, Proctor and DiCaprio are all returning, and now likely Warren, as well, as a transfer would require him to sit out a year (unless he goes JUCO). Proctor may not have made the all-regional team, but he certainly deserved to be.

How does that make us young? LSU was much younger than us. I think westside was just pointing out you DO make excuses for baseball.

LSU was not MUCH younger than us. During the year, 5 of our 9 starting position players were underclassmen (Myers, Chandler, Proctor, DiCaprio, Gray), and two were true Freshmen. Yes, we had more Seniors than usual, but they were not the stars of the team. As for the pitching staff, yes, our Friday and Saturday starters were upperclassmen, but virtually everybody else was an underclassman (Solecitto the lone exception, and he hardly contributed).

Baseball America's 2016 Draft Database says that Duplantier has signed with the Diamondbacks for $686.6K.

Well why don't you just pick the team, and save the people who did the effort? . 4/6 guys who did are reportedly leaving, as it has been reported here several times Warren is going.

I wonder if that first inning against LSU cost him...

I doubt it, given how strong he bounced back and pitched the subsequent 4.1 innings before the rain delayed things. He pretty much got slot money for mid-third round.

That was probably not the only game he was scouted in. There are scouts in the stands for most games at Reckling.

Duplantier pitched his first inning tonight for the Hillsboro Hops. He had three strikeouts. Nice start to his professional career.
