167 Colleges and Universities Under Investigation For Campus Violence
http://jezebel.com/notre-dame-and-uchica...1762368483
This is the same number of schools that have been mentioned on ESPN's Around The Horn when they were talking about the Baylor issue. We see University of Chicago and Notre Dame are also being investigated.
Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Florida State are also being investigated.
Missouri is another one.
Hocking College that I posted is also under the gun.
Ivy League schools are there.
BYU is also under the gun.
A lot of people need to be fired just like Art Briles. It should be assistant coaches, AD department, chanchollars, school Presidents, Title 9 people at the Universities, and so forth. A lot of these cases happened to involved with student athletes who raped female students.
Florida State could be found that they covered up Winston's crime. That means Jimbo Fisher should go since he protected his star player just like Art Briles tried to protect his players.

NBC news article needs to be updated to include Hocking College in Ohio and Baylor. You could see many D1, D2, D3, NAIA and junior colleges on the report. Some of the schools that are so small, and losing any federal grants for Title 9 issues would shut those schools down for good.

We're straying dangerously close to ideologically motivated 'reporting' with this. Jezebel? Really?
There will be a lot of push to use this as evidence of "campus rape culture."

RE: 167 Colleges and Universities Under Investigation For Campus Violence
I think people need to stop and pay attention to this. If these schools loses on Title IX? They lose all federal grants, and no financial aid would be giving to students. It would be the Government's way of the death penalty that the NCAA gave to SMU, but in this case academics. These schools are playing dangerously with the laws on this issue. Some of the schools listed are small private colleges, and lost of federal grants? They are good as dead meat, and forced to close. Valparaiso is a private, and may not have the budget like Baylor, but if they are found guilty? Valparaiso could be gone from college and university scene. No more sports, and no more school.

It should be more than that, do you know how much crime in general goes unreported? Just because investigators and the media are just now getting around to it doesn't mean it's not happening.

With what went down at Baylor and at BYU. How many victims are afraid to report the crimes if they get treated like they were with these young girls and ladies.

It seems that the most accusations appear mostly on the P5 schools at the highest level. Most of the schools listed have involved with male athletes on female students or female athletes. This might effect on how the future of realignment if some schools can't function much more if they lose federal grants and all that. The schools that stands out that can't stay out of trouble are UConn, Miami and North Carolina. Sadly, the male athletes at these schools do not think why they need to keep it in their pants, because they would cause problems for the schools that accepted them. This mess needs to be cleaned up by all the schools from the athletes to regular students. Need to have a rally to have the students learn what not to do.

People aren't paying attention because you don't know what you are looking at.

It is not just football players alone. Basketball and baseball players have been accused of rape. Even wrestlers were accused of rape. They added the cover up of a basketball player at Baylor as well which people are calling for them to kill all sports.

*75% of the Ivies, MIT, U of Chicago, Tufts, Hopkins, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and Duke are on that list. There are a surprising number of academic heavyweights on that list.
*Harvard, MIT, Boston University, Boston College, and Northeastern are also all on that list. Unless I'm forgetting a school, that's every major school in the city of Boston (yes, I know there are countless minor ones, but I think that's all the majors).

RE: 167 Colleges and Universities Under Investigation For Campus Violence
This is more a list of schools that have had complaints filed in regards to sexual assault etc.. However, it's dangerous to sit around and act like this list is indicative of much. There is no set threshold for what it takes to trigger one of these "investigations." The Columbia mattress girl can trigger one even though the school and local authorities investigated and concluded that no sexual assault occurred. All it would require is some involvement with athletics.
This list is useless, utterly useless.

This is more on the investigation by the feds on the Title IX issues.
Boise State and Montana is not on the list. They expel the players who abused the young ladies.
Holy Cross is in the Boston suburbs. They are the only one that did not made the list.

Not all investigations are alike.
To get on this list all you need is a complaint form filled out.
It is nothing like having an NCAA investigation nor is it even remotely indicative of any kind of pending doom for these schools or programs.
The only reason this list is even published is because there was a push by the current administration to make these sorts of things more public. In days past these "investigations," if you can even call them that, were simply a bureaucratic exercise.
You are presenting this list as if it casts some kind of doubt or shade on these institutions when in reality it does nothing of the sort. You simply are misinterpreting what is in front of you.
This is NOT a list of abusive schools or schools about to get nailed; it's a list of schools that had a complaint form filled out, and that by itself is nearly meaningless.
