They seem to be recruiting decently. Not great, but decent. I'll give them that. They've got a couple of nice pieces there. The TE from Greenville, Keegan Cossou, is a good one. Charles Jones (RB - Skyline) and their newest commit, Johnathon Berghorst (DE - Zeeland East), also look good and I wouldn't mind having them. We were full at DE though with Umlor and Hickcox. We also already had a committed RB, Walker. So I don't know how hard, if at all, we were still recruiting those guys. The rest of their commits are...meh...
All in all, I wouldn't trade a single one of them for any of our guys. I love how our '17 class is coming together. A lot of size and strength in the trenches, some good looking LBs and a stud QB.

Central offered Ulmour, didn't get him. Thet offered Hickcox, didn't get him.
A lot of kids start with 3 or 4 offers, and two months later the only teams left calling are EMU and Central. They're the MAC West default teams when UT WMU BG and BSU stop calling.
Right now Bono is telling kids he finished 1st and is trending up. Most recruits know nothing about the MAC and take that at face value. Central has an unfriendly schedule, and has lost some key players. They will finish around 4th and will get drubbed by several teams this year. The only game that will draw will be our game, and if we beat them badly you'll see his early verbals looking elsewhere.

Good for them! I think it's great that MAC teams are doing better in recruitment. It would be great if EMU could get their act together.
This is good for the conference, and if we can brag about our recruits, they are welcome to brag about theirs.

EMU was up 21-3 in Mt P in the Chimps final game. EMU and CMU are not that far apart. Once teams figured out that the Chimps had no run game they were struggling to beat the bottom feeders. If they can't run the ball this year it will be more of the same.

And WMU is #19.
Both WMU and CMU are ranked in front of MSU, Florida, Tennessee, USC and Stanford.
Sure.
I would not put much validity in this ranking.
Fun read, however.

Had no idea they were recruiting so well. Enos never had a class like this at any stage in the recruiting process. I still like our class better (by a lot) but good for them I suppose.

They are beating us on some Michigan kids. Though after getting a ton of commits early, I have no idea if they backed off on guys like Berghorst or not. But I do think this is where losing Vinson Reynolds is going to hurt. Upside is, I think our defensive line play is going to be better.

Can't think of anything less meaningful or interesting than recruiting rankings nine months prior to National Signing Day.

Really, I for one, would like a day where WMU, CMU and maybe when hell freezes over that even EMU are all competitive and in the upper echelon of the MAC. It makes it more fun and is what's best for the conference.

No kidding. Especially a ranking that WAY too heavily weighs overall quantity.
