The Stadiums
Can somebody tell these talking heads they don't know what they are talking about. "uhhh, well, BYU already has a 60,000 seat stadium and a lot of fans, so they should get in, uh," They are also a million miles from everybody, while we have a 60,000 seat stadium, lots of fans and make geographic sense and have FEDEX, the Liberty Bowl, SEC country, etc.
So does Memphis
[Image: 1269383269-stadiums_memphis.jpg]
Lavell Edwards Stadium, opened in 1964
now seats 63,470
Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, opened in 1965
now seats 61,008

Oh, and Cincinnati
Nippert Stadium 35,097
UCF
45,301
Houston
40,000

You could have found a stadium shot from this year for us. But no, the stadium argument holds zero water

RE: The Stadiums
The 'stadium' issue is a talking point that say's "We really are not sure we want to let Memphis into the club. Because I'm PC, I can't say the real reason, so gripe about the stadium".

current Liberty Bowl capacity 59,308...soon it will be 57,898

Quote:The upgrade would reduce capacity at the 50-year-old stadium from 59,308 to 57,898 — a loss of 1,410 seats — but enhance the facility's attractiveness, according to an athletic department official from the University of Memphis, the stadium's chief tenant, and Fred Jones, founder of the Southern Heritage Classic.

Ignoring all the BS bickering, CMT has a great point. Dodd makes a comment that we have an old stadium, but it is a year newer than BYU's. What really matters is how well it has been maintained and updated. Considering all of the recent upgrades - esp Tiger Lane, lockerrooms, & bigscreen, I'd say that it is as good as ever, esp once it gets the new seats installed. When was the last time Dodd was there, cuz there is NO way that someone walks into that stadium and says "what an old piece of crap".

RE: The Stadiums
the Liberty Bowl is an updated 59,000+ seat stadium, in a top-50 media market...the Liberty Bowl isn't the issue

We know that, but I am not sure that national media and other talking heads know that. They just see 50-year-old stadium and poo-poo on it regardless of what tyoe of shape it is in and the fact that most stadiums are fairly old.

Jesus. You right.

One, the end zone paint is different. Two, the maroon that takes up the other sideline of the shot that Missouri State wouldn't bring.
