Academically better is relative to what you are specifically looking at. As I said one school might be academically better in one major and another in another.
Al I'm saying is that USF ranks ahead of BYU in some majors and research.

I would put USF up against BYU any day because its an almost impossible comparison to make. USFs medical school is very well rated. Our college of education is top 50 in the nation. Research.... we stomp them. You really cant say one is better than the other because they have areas that are better and we have areas that are better.
They get higher marks on stupid comparisons like US News since they have smaller teacher to student ratios.... I personally didnt need classes of 15 students because I dont need my hand held to learn. They are also significantly older, so they get a level of credit even if its not totally deserved.

To compare a university blankly is moronic at best. Its like saying Harvard is a better school than Georgia Tech... until we find out that the major is engineering.

BYU cant hold USFs jock when it compares to research. Were 41st in the nation... BYU was 214th. I am not criticizing BYU at all. Its a good school and good at what they do, but there are many areas that BYU isn't nearly as good as USF.

USF is head and shoulders above BYU, as we are head and shoulders above all the other AAC schools. Except maybe UConn.
