I'm fine with it. I don't think anyone here would object as long as it is P5 oriented.

I think it may work.

We just have it be obvious that it is P5 bias so don't get butt hurt when people laugh at the huge crowd of 21,000 people.

That's the nice part about being the only mod on this forum. Trolls and dweebs won't last very long.

Use the PM to invite folks you would like to include and I invite all of our regulars, SEC fans or not, to do the same.

I've posted an invitation on the Big 10 board & Big 12 board. I figure we'll invite the ACC posters we want. Wedge is the only PAC poster and I'll shoot him a P.M. later.

I would go further than that, there should be three football divisions:
IA - The P5, AAC, MWC, ND, BYU and Army
IB - CUSA, MAC, Sun Belt, CAA, MVC, Big Sky, OVC, Southland
IC - Everybody else

IA would have an eight team playoff the P5 conference champs, the winner of a AAC/MWC championship game and the two best at-large.

I don't necessarily advocate for a new system of segmenting programs.

But, I do feel that we should start with the bottom 10 or so programs. They are somewhat akin to drug addicts in that they may like what is happening to them but it isn't good for them.

RE: FBS Programs considering dropping down divisions
the MAC, Sun Belt and CUSA could definitely drop down a division.

I don't necessarily disagree but I don't necessarily have a problem with some programs wanting to be in FBS. My problem is only with those that have no real business here.

Ren, we consider you and X to be regulars as well as Lenville so feel free to invite folks here for conversation. My moderation will be simple. We keep a certain level of decorum for discussion while allowing for disagreement, and we keep antsy pants G5 trolls out. The discussions will be limited only in as much as they meet 1 standard. They need to pertain to P5 issues.

Jayhawkmvp, Baylorferg, Bullet, Wedge, and the Big 10 guys are all welcome.

I didn't used to have much of an opinion on some of the small schools until I've seen some of the vitriol on that board.

It's downright turned my stomach on several programs and their fans.

Btw - we're down in your neck of the woods this weekend visiting my in laws. Such a beautiful area, especially this time of year. I could see us retiring here, although I reserve the right to wear my Clemson attire 03-wink

We are all in the John Heisman family and both are Tigers. If you retired in the Loveliest Village you would fit in just fine, Clemson attire or not.

Or just because there's a lot of people within 100 miles of the school.

I used to love the old Big East Split/Expansion board. It was even fun for awhile after it was morphed into the realignment board. Now it's just a whole lot of trolling and hate.

Pretty much. Throw in a couple of posters who just like to argue and derail threads and you have about summed it up. I have asked for a P5 board for going on a year. I just want a place where we can get away from it, carry on civil discussions, accept legitimate differences, and talk about matters pertinent to the P5. The old crowd is afraid of alienating the G5 posters. So I say what the hell, let's just do it here. Big 10, Big 12, PAC, and ACC posters have my word that they can start threads, discuss, and have fun without getting over moderated. All I'll ask for is no personal attacks, and respectful disagreements with topics pertaining to your conference, another P5 conference, or P5 matters in general. I hope you guys will post again. JR
