Johnny Johns, CEO of Protective Life, said it would be the logical next step to find UAB a stadium other than Legion Field.
He said he sees the business community’s role in supporting UAB football breaking down into three stages. The first was the reinstatement of the program, the second being the practice facility, and the third being a new stadium.
“Having a Division I football program will contribute to UAB’s success and Birmingham’s success,” Johns said. "I certainly understand the logic of needing a new stadium for the team, and we’re excited about the momentum and the vision being discussed."
