True enough, but that's an 'if' right now...like you said, "if he gets results."

I mean we can delve into hypotheticals all day long...what if Dedric can play center extraordinarily well at the DI level, what if he can't, what if Rivers can play center, what if he can't, what if Chad R gets hurt in game 1, what if he averages 9 and 5 for the season, etc.

All we currently know is what is actually going on:

Less players coming in than players leaving.

No true DI experience at the center position.

Missing on average recruits.

No early 2017 commits yet.

Southwest is struggling to find funding for most everything these days; no dorms are being built.

I can tell you first hand if kids that end up at Memphis get treated right (and not asked to play out of position constantly or do things they aren't good at) then you'll never have a problem getting a kid from Southwest to go to Memphis.

No football because of $$ and the fact that it would be tough to find teams to play (can't play MS junior colleges in FB- their league rules).

I do like the idea of having a prep school in the city in the back pocket, so to speak. Wish the city would build dorms for SWTCC as well. The University athletics programs would be well served by having both a prep school and community college system right in their backyard - sort of a farm system to a degree. Always thought that Shelby State should've been treated with first class accommodations back in the day. A lot of non-qualifiers could've been placed there and been Tigers a couple of years later.

Heck, wish SWTCC had a football program as well, though it's obviously not feasible.

Though, NE CC and NW CC aren't too far away.

The Wolf Pack basketball team is in the process of releasing Shawntrez Davis from the national letter-of-intent he signed with the school in November.

Davis, a former four-star recruit, committed to Nevada last September over offers from Texas Tech, Memphis, Marquette and Saint Louis. He initially committed to Texas Tech out of high school over offers from a bevy of Power 5 programs but did not academically qualify and instead went to junior college.
