This could turnout to be gold next year.

Interesting and good find.

Thanks
Good stuff:

In order to help shorten the learning curve, former NBA great William Bedford, a World Champion with the “Bad Boys” Detroit Pistons and former Memphis State Tiger, is being brought in especially for Chris, also known as Yannick.

Sodom currently holds offers from Florida, Kansas, New Mexico, Purdue, TCU and Texas A&M. Memphis is currently monitoring his progress and could offer at any time.

With offers from Kansas and Florida, plus Bedford's involvement, what in the heck are they 'monitoring'? Offer the kid already. He'd start on this year's team.
Have to agree with the OP and think this is Tubby's doing.

Because if a 7-3 kid transfers to a Memphis prep school and then picks KU or Florida or whoever, it's just gonna be a black eye for them and they are reeling right now as it is.
I've never heard of Tenn Prep Academy. Is that one of the old charter schools ?
TN Prep had a 6-9 kid who signed with UALR or AST this year...after Tubby was hired.

I do like the idea of having a prep school in the city in the back pocket, so to speak. Wish the city would build dorms for SWTCC as well. The University athletics programs would be well served by having both a prep school and community college system right in their backyard - sort of a farm system to a degree. Always thought that Shelby State should've been treated with first class accommodations back in the day. A lot of non-qualifiers could've been placed there and been Tigers a couple of years later.

Heck, wish SWTCC had a football program as well, though it's obviously not feasible.

Though, NE CC and NW CC aren't too far away.
The Bedford angle is interesting.

Does the TN Prep coach know him?

Does Tubby and staff know him?

Recommendation from a Memphis booster?

Bedford angling for a college assistant job?

Etc.

Better hope that Orlando is not involved in this decision. With Bedford now personally involved with the teaching of the kid. If Orlando is involved it could be seen as using a former player for recruiting for the school. Which is a no no.

Link?
Be funny if Tubby and staff signed a player from the Houston AAU hoops scene when Josh couldn't do it in 7 seasons.

Oh Lord.

We should probably stop recruiting all those Team Penny kids too (just in case).
By my count we only have 7 (more like 6 with Dedric entering the draft) scholarships filled for next season. I don't care if the kid has no clue how to play, he's 7'3 and can actually move. Perfect situation to take a swing at this type of kid.
I'm down.

They desperately need some 2017 commits.

If Orlando had anything to do with Bedfiord coming to coach the player when he normally was not a part of the school's staff. Then the NCAA will take a close look at the relationship between Bedford and the player. If in their mind he played a factor in directing him to Memphis then it would be a violation. Situation is different from Penny's AU team since Penny was the coach all along and the player chose to join the team. Bedford is an outsider at TPA and not a normal member of staff.

You can save the oh lords until your weekly encounter with the $10 hooker off brooks.
looks tuff
Oh yeah. Offer him and take him.

Yep

Unlike the NBA you can just park the kid in the lane on defense

As for Dedric declaring for the draft .... Buuuuuuaaaaahhhhhaaaa

Oh my. Haven't played a game and they are 'reeling'.

What an agenda.
