I know our committee approach has been criticized, and in some ways I agree. A committee is much more likely to produce a "safe" choice like Tubby.

But if Tubby's side is asking for more, IMO it's much harder to move a committee to commit more $s than an AD. Bet a couple of people on the commiittee are saying no way, we brought Tubby in assuming X amount of $s, if that's not enough we move on. Just my opinion from being around too many conference tables, committees are harder to move than an individual.

Buzz's people didn't think Memphis wasn't serious about trying to make it happen.

FWIW, (and at this point, it should be worth very, very little) just before tubby-palooza blew up today, heard Buzz wasn't even being interviewed until Friday...so at this point, I am choosing to believe everything. We are going to have a lot of hall of fame coaches on our bench next year. All running good stuff. Ken Dorsey. The world is ours.
