How Serious Are The Problems Within The Memphis Administration?
It really seems like things are a mess over there. Bowen appears to be very difficult to work with and there are obviously issues between him and Rudd. Wolken hinted at Fuente sharing his experiences with Buzz as a reason the Buzz stuff didn't gain more traction. Also, DeCourcey has made several vague comments about the job being more complicated than most know and how he knows too much to be able to call the Memphis coaching job a Top 15 job.

That's a pretty low bar.

I don't have the same info you have so you are probably referring to a different issue than I am. All I know is that administrators and coaches that have worked for Bowen at SJSU and Memphis can't get along with him.

Pray tell, how exactly do you "know" this?

What Edmund Tiger is true, and not at all hard to find out. I have witnessed Bowen's behavior first hand, as have a lot of other people in Memphis. Missouri is a freaking refugee camp from our athletic department.

Just start at the bottom and call the ticket office.

Seriously dude you got issues. I've elaborated a million times on this and Gary Parrish pretty much said the same thing today. The boosters run the show. We got too many chiefs and not enough Indians. I'm sure that last sentence will offend some folks

RE: How Serious Are The Problems Within The Memphis Administration?
I do not have any inside information, but will happily pass along the personal knowledge I have ... and you may make of it whatever you will.

Tom Bowen does not appear to be a gregarious guy. His style is all business, and I personally know a big booster who like this very much. Bowen appears to handle his job in this hard-nosed, business-like manner, which is very different from the glad handing that RC did. Some will like it, some will not. I have no knowledge of Dr. Rudd, and how he likes this style of an AD.

I can also share a story, that I witnessed personally, that speaks to Bowen outside of his job. Bowen and his wife attended a grandparents day for a staffer's child who's actual grandparents couldn't attend. Parents were not allowed at the event, so this child would not have had anyone there for the program ... Bowen and his wife sat in for the child. This earned him nothing in terms of the community or boosters, and probably nothing in the eyes of the University. They did it for the best reason - selfless service to another.
