SBC had 3 schools against Sat camps: Texas State, ULL, Georgia Southern. Texas State's AD cast our vote, so we voted against. For the most part ULL and GS fans are happy right now. Texas State fans are furious, because their AD actually went against their own football coach and cast the leagues vote to ban the camps.
It will be interesting to watch what happens when the Board of Governors meets on this in 2 weeks. Our voter on that committee is from Troy if my memory is correct, and they supported camps last time around. You might see our vote actually change.

Zac Jackson @AkronJackson
Oliver Luck at a speaking engagement in NE Ohio this morning said he expects the satellite camp rule to be revisited.

screw the p5 biatches....they can lick and suck all this bs that is happening.....
I do t get what the MTN West & especially the Sun Belt are thinking. It's not like ther coaches and teams didn't benefit from camps set up in their areas.
There's some belief on our board that the Texas State rep who handles our vote went rogue and did it on their own. They are the only team in the SBC who doesn't need the camps.
Doesn't matter though because the 4 P5 votes were enough.
a lot of the PAC 10 is pissed off about it. It seems the majority are in favor of camps & the USC (?) rep voted for the ban
From asking around, there are several who think that a Conference Rep going on their own and acting independent of the league's wishes happened several times with this vote. There was a lot of division over camps outside of the SEC, some schools wanted it, and some didn't.
I think you may see some changes made when this goes before the board of directors, where the divide is more fair towards the G5 leagues, and a different group of reps inhabit the committee.
Teis defied what the SBC coaches (majority) wanted. He defied what his own coach wanted. Benson said Teis wasn't tied to what his school or the conference wanted. He showed his stripes with that vote.
