I'll give him 1 or 2 more years IF he didn't know about it. Either way he is the head coach & the buck stops with him. He's close enough to retirement anyway.
I'm angry and embarrassed by this...he got off with the affair 6 years ago and this way on his watch. Now if it comes out that another staffer was in on this no way he keeps his job...
As a student at U of L, that would literally piss off 95% of the student body.
Hey did you get my pm?

RE: Louisville self imposes additional sanctions
Oh, for goodness sake. Nothing is going to happen to Pitino - unless he starts losing. Louisville is the new UNLV. Anything goes.
I think it's because they feel pressure to compete with Kentucky. Kentucky is notoriously one of the most crooked programs in the history of the world. Louisville feels like it has to cut corners to be like Kentucky. I get it. However, I obviously don't respect it.
That assistant coach got all of that money from somewhere and there is no way in hell he would take it upon himself to flagrantly violate NCAA rules without the head coach's knowledge if not his direct consent.
Also, there is no way there was some sort of a grand conspiracy among boosters and assistant coaches and players to use strippers and prostitutes to recruit but to also keep this all from Rick Pitino's watchful eye. That's just ludicrous reasoning.
Look, it's working. Jurich has turned Louisville into a semi-professional operation. He doesn't care about ethics, he cares about money. The people that he works for obviously also care only about money. That's cool. However, it's definitely crooked and everyone else can plainly see Louisville for what it is: a prostitute win-at-all-costs type of program.
The ACC knew what it was getting in Louisville. However, they were desperate to stay among the power conferences that they were willing to simply pinch their nose and deal with it.

Hate to rain on your parade but the sense is Pitino is in "Some" quarters is losing respect/grip...it depends IMO who is "Coach Mike"...that is the key.
FTR, in case you haven't notice unfortunately most of the P5 has turned into a win at all cost/semi-pro operation...TV Contracts, COA etc, etc..so spare me on that...

Does Louisville take chances on some coaches (Hurt) & players (Fields)? Yes but "win at all costs" means to me that you don't follow the rules. If you look at the university's history going back to the 70's, Louisville has a good track record with the NCAA. Denny Crum had issues in the 90's & then Jurich had to clean up an issue while they were still on probation when he got here & now this. That's over 4 decades & all surrounding basketball only! I will withhold my judgment on the current situation until the investigation is over but so far, according to Powell accusations, it appears McGee acted alone. If that doesn't prove to be the case & the coaches were involved then Louisville will need to clean house, including Jurich & Pitino. Despite what bs the Dr says this isn't tolerated in Louisville.

Well said...the Pitt "Dr" doesn't know what the climate is currently with Louisville Fans/Alums and doesn't know what the situation is currently....have to let it play out...if it is symptomatic appropriate actions will take place...count on it...

The university is bigger than 1 man. Howard Schnellenberger left because U of L joined CUSA against his wishes. Crum was forced into retirement due in part because of poor performance on the court & NCAA compliance issues. Pitino will be no different.

Good to see such ignorance from not only outsiders, but our own fans. This is the ONLY place online that has a majority that wants Rick gone. Don't you think if he knew, or if this was being orchestrated by other people, that would've already come out? There was no one else. We self imposed this round to satisfy the NCAA and get this expedited, which it will be. We will be in the tournament next year. The last shoe to drop will be Rick being suspended for5-10 games. Even the lawyer for this crazy lying hoe said there is zero evidence Rick knew, and their camp has been caught lying about details constantly. But yeah, that's not talked about on TMZ-I mean ESPN. Those who have done actual research and know how many lies she has been caught in know what's up. Those who rely on ESPN spew ignorant crap.
Pitt fan, please shut up. The amount supposedly exchanged was 5-6k over a 4 year period. Andre McGee made six figures with minimal living expenses. It's beyond hilarious that you act like that's a sum of money he couldn't afford. Stick to issues you know about and quit passing judgement on us. You better have the same words for Syracuse, who committed Numerous infractions for a decade. Don't even get me started on UNC.
You people who would want Chris Mack over Rick Pitino are insane. There is not a better coach out there that we can get, and Pitino is still top 5 in the game.

Nobody said a "majority" Louisville fans wanted him gone and even I said I was likely in the minority...but make no mistake...you have a segment-(larger than you might realize that has a big issue with Rick and what went down).this issue is bigger than some realize and when Rick does leave my first phone call is to Wichita, Kansas-(Gregg Marshall)...We are Louisville...replaced a multiple Championship Hall of Fame Coach before...we can do it again...as Wilkie said, Louisville Basketball is bigger than Pitino or anyone else....

Based on what I've heard over the last few weeks from three different sources who would know, I'd be surprised if another staffer/coach was NOT named in this scandal.

The numerous infractions at Syracuse that you refer to, amounted to 3 basketball players and 2 football players "volunteering" at a Boys and Girls Club and getting paid under the table for it by the manager who was a Syracuse booster, and a tutor who wrote a paper for Fab Melo, and James Southerland playing when he was academically ineligible. Those are all improper benefits but nothing on the level of a coach paying for prostitutes for recruits, which is also improper benefits.

To be fair, you forgot the part where we self-reported a clerical error in administering an optional drug test that the vast majority of schools don't have.
You also forgot to mention the events at PSU, UNC, and Miami*. I'm pretty sure SU picked/is picking up their tab (preemptively in UNC's case).
*Admittedly, Miami was more a product of NCAA incompetence than outright corruption. I'm pretty sure the NCAA tried to drop the hammer on the 'Canes, but failed miserably. SU just happened to be next in line.

I know...that is what I was hinting at with this post...again only rumor but JMO Rick and Louisville "might" not be out of the woods just yet.

Don't forget the POS Former AD from WVU drinking with Eer fans bragging how he screwed over Cuse with the sanctions from his NCAA perch.
