Today was a Great Hire in the process of UAB Basketball. We hired a future Champion who will keep his current players as he recruited the current team (who did not lose a game at home) (the Bartow) and they will win again and if he recruited these guys then he can recruit the next players who are just as good and better then these guys who we got coming from the court to play next year these guys will stay cause these guys want to see who he can possiblly recruit better then me and he will like the next. For an Assistant coach, Any one heard of Terrance Gibson who played out of Dothan, who played in the final four for Cincy. Never coached a down but who could play a former player from the state maybe Cedrick out of Montgomery. any Ideas on a few Assistant Coaches.

I would think that Rob Williams would be an option for an assistants position.

That along with Battle leaves an open spot for a seasoned veteran.

Are there really different levels of pay for the assistants?

Riley did a pretty good job when he was here as well.

He may be in a better position now though.

That was a nice video of Rob meeting HIS team, presumably today. Guess Ingram also had returned for the introduction since I noticed him standing there in the doorway along with ( I think ) our NCAA Faculty Rep.

Faculty Rep? I thought that was Steve Mitchell leaning against the door and I couldn't tell who the other guy was. Was that guy in the hall the faculty rep?

Yes, that is who I was talking about, not Steve.

Steve Mitchell's 1983 UAB Team defeated Villanova, won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, and lost to BYU in the first round of NCAA Tournament. All of those games were played at BJCC. Just a bit of trivia.
