If you don't know (and I didn't) this relay is a 5K broken up into 4 runners doing 1200, 400, 800, 1600 in that order.

Ended up 6th of 16. I'll take it.

RE: Outdoor T&F
Men's 4x400 TXST finished 4th. 55/100 of a second separated 1 through 4 in a, somewhat, "photo finish"
SFA 3:06.17
TCU 3:06.22
Kansas 3:06.48
TXST 3:06.72
All of these teams did better than 5 of the 9 university teams deemed elite that got a pass to the "invitational" 4x400.
I assume that is our best time, so far, in the short outdoor season. It was almost 4 seconds better than the qualifying time (3:10.41) on a wet track yesterday

UTA was 9th

TXST was 5th in woman's 4x400. There was a much larger separation between this field and their "elite" equivalent than the man.

Several athletes and teams took a pass, yesterday, in qualifying so did not compete. I know our very good 100m woman and our men's 4x100 scratched. 3/4 athletes pulled up with hamstring and other injuries. Coaches didn't want to take chances on their sprinters on the wet track and in cold weather.

The relay teams stood out at the Texas Relays. The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Lincoln Warren, Anthony Johnson, Dexter Lee and De'Marcus Porter ran a 3:06.72 to vault to the top of the Sun Belt Conference standings by just more than three seconds. The time puts them as the 12th fastest team in the country as they finished fourth at the Texas Relays.

04-cheers
