Great list. Enfield, Cooley, Hurley, Cronin, Sendek & Drew all would be interesting candidates. Even though Cronin maybe looking to leave Cincinnati, I'm not sure if he would be the right fit for Pittsburgh.

Sendek did go 191-132 (59%) but 72-88 (45%) in the ACC while at NC State. He made the NCAA tournament in each of his last 5 years in his 10 years at NC State but made the Sweet 16 only once.

At Arizona State he went 155-133 (54%) but only 68-86 (44%) against PAC competition. He never made it past the second round of the NCAA tournament & only got there twice in 9 years, missing postseason play 3 times.

Overall Sendek is 406-290 (58%) in 22 years as a head coach. He made the Sweet 16 only once in 8 NCAA tournament appearances. He was the MAC coach of the year in 1995 when he led Miami to the regular season championship, his only championship. He was also the 2004 ACC COY & the PAC COY in 2010.

Is this good enough for Pittsburgh? He has a good overall win % but he is lacking in the postseason.

Nice list, I think all would be decent hires but I agree on Cooley. I think that would be a 'slam dunk' hire! See what I did there??? Haha

I think Mick's personality would complement Pitt for he is an aggressive style uptempo kind of guy who is not afraid of hard work. I think it would be a great fit for him as well as Pitt. Now if they are able to bring in Sean Miller who it looks has turned down the position then that would be a great hire as well as Brad Stevens who's name I heard yesterday on the radio. I think Mick would be an excellent choice just not the name recognition of a national guy, but could be one if he turns things around for Pitt in the ACC.

Unless your program is an absolute blue blood, the name Brad Stevens should not even be brought up.

Mick seems to be headed to UNLV.

RE: Who is going to coach at Pitt?
i posted something at the pitt bbs but definitely strange.

I really don't see many folks giving him a chance - no buzz at all. Shelton Jeter transferred out of Vandy with Stallings blocking him to Pitt.

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketbal...er-to-pitt

How does that impact other players currently there? They will want to know the type if coach he is, what dealings Jeter had with him, etc.

Stallings threatened to kill a player. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nca.../24099639/

How would AD Barnes spin all of this?

This reaaly has the potential to be a

At this point, I'm thinking about throwing my hat into the ring. I can't be much worse, and I will be a heck of a lot cheaper.

Stallings is a really nice guy.

His son Jacob graduated from Carolina where he played baseball. I used to see Coach Stallings in the stands at Boshamer for almost all of our weekend games.

Most of his teams were solid. Recruiting basketball players to Vanderbilt would be like recruiting football players to Dook.

Pitt could have done so much better...if this was the result you would have been better off keeping Jamie Dixon.
