Are Memphis fans irrational? Would you trade your coach today for Josh Pastner??

Memphis fans, was it too expensive of a buy out?

Pastner should coach the football team also.

Maybe the only coach in the country I'd want less than Lebo.

lol. Thanks guys. I love seeing outside perspective because Pastner still has delusional defenders. They are a lot fewer now, but they're still out there. The University was really hoping he took another job. Unfortunately, I'm not sure there were many serious offers out there.

There was a rumor Texas-San Antonio was going to go after him, but he wouldn't leave Memphis and $2.6M for UTSA.

Way too eerily reminiscent of when SMU retained June Jones. But, we are much happier now and so will you in the long run. Sucks now but it will end.

You guys have the same problem with him that Miss State does with Dan Mullen. They want to run him off but cant because of the $$. Also your paying him just enough that no one will hire him away from you.

No surprise based on the cost of his buyout. Here's the rub: Pastner has a good season next year and prolongs the falling of the eventual ax. Similar to slowly pulling a band aid off your arm hair instead of one fast pull. Could also be viewed as a state of Purgatory. However, several bottom feeding programs in the AAC would love to have Pastner as head coach whether they want to admit it or not.

The programs wouldn't mind admitting it, however the fans of those programs would struggle admitting it.

Pastner can't win with 4 and 5 star talent. How is he going to win with 3 star talent? The guy is down to the Asun/c-usa level.

Pastner has done less with more than any coach in the country for years.

Winning is a relative term depending from where ye stand. I'm no Pastner apologist but the guy is 167-73 (.696) overall, 82-36 (.695) in conference play, went to 4 straight NCAA tourneys (has missed the last two), 2013 CUSA coach of the year and owns 3 conference tournament championships and 2 regular season conference championships. Not bad for only 7 years as a head coach and he is only 38. There are plenty of teams that would like that level of success compared to what they have had.

Read my signature for what he's done the past 3 years. If you guys want him you're welcome to him.

I can see a couple of fans of other programs are proving my statement to be on target. Many thanks.
