Why not just keep it in one thread? It's gonna clutter the board? How about a first round or first weekend thread we can all go back to universally reference?

Yes, but should a 9 beating a 8 really count?

That's a big part of the stat, yeah. 8 seeds were 4-0 in 8/9 games last year, and 0-3 in those games on Thursday this year.

Why not? Look at it the other way around. If someone were calculating the "dominance" of higher seeds over lower seeds, and adding up the number of higher-seed wins, would they be questioned for counting the 8s beating the 9s? I doubt it.

definitely not a good look for the A10 this year so far. Of all the games to lose in a blowout would be the Syracuse/Dayton game.

RE: NCAA tourney Thread- Fri 3/18
my thought was that I can really understand what the committee was looking at. top 50 wins. And there's no doubt that Syracuse had those.

And the thing is, the one team that didn't have those but got in has done ok so far. Wichita.

So you think WSU passed the "eye test"? BTW, they looked pretty good...wouldn't want to see them next round.

I'd say so. I think also what helped Wichita vs Monmouth was the committees view on Northern Iowa vs Iona. Northern Iowa got a 11 seed. Iona a 13 seed. So a pretty good difference there.. And it's pretty clear the committee didn't think much of the A10, hurting St Bonnie's.

Nova wins their 1st game. Their kryptonite is the next game- to advance to the sweet 16. Will they have the answer this time? It'll be interesting to see how Iowa does. Heard someone in the media say how getting to the NCAA tourney sometimes can be like hitting the reset button. Will that happen with the Hawkeyes?

how many times do you get in the 2nd round a matchup that exactly 1 month ago was #1 (Nova) vs #4 (Iowa)?

Congratulations to Syracuse. I still don't think they have been selected but they whipped Dayton.

Iowa is only up 1 on Temple. They aren't through just yet.
