RE: NCAA tourney Thread- Fri 3/18
Indiana was only 19-9 that season though. It's not remotely close to today at all.

Also saying that there had only been 3 13 wins is very deceiving as the tourney had only gone to the new 64 team format 3 years earlier. So 1 a year. And there had also been 3 14 wins over 3's ....

I really like Ron Hunter as an analyst. He is really good IMO.... Maybe the best studio guy that they have....

um no. They played 8 OOC games vs D1 schools....
Baylor- lost by 42
Northern Iowa- lost by 10
W Michigan- won by 8
Tulane- lost by 1
App St- won by 10
Texas Southern- won by 4
Arizona St- lost by 7
UAB- lost by 10
so 8 games and went 3-5 vs them. Then their conference was #29. So sorry, that's no travesty......

I thought they were pretty dangerous. They were a very good team last year.

Hard in any conference to go 21-0. They won the last 9 by at least 21 (averaging a 30 point win) and only had 5 of those 21 less than 21 point wins and only 2 in single digits.

Did SFA have any players out OOC? That ugly OOC slate is why I didn't pick them.

Insane that they went from losing to Baylor by 42, losing to Tulane, etc. to whipping West Virginia by 14. Two different worlds.

So the PAC 12 is 2-5. San Diego St should have been in one of those spots.

They may have been missing one starter but I think it's the same core. They got got beat early but learned from their losses, then got into conference and found their confidence/rythm. Kind of like the mid-major version of Kentucky this year. Certainly helps that they have a great coach in Underwood and a team full of tournament experience.

that's fine, but still it's no travesty that they were a 14 seed. Going 18-0 in the junk that was the southland(the 4th worst conference in the country) doesn't overcome that OOC garbage....

Seeding is irrelevant when talking about SFA. They had no shot at being higher than a #12 seed, so either way they were going to play a very good team in the 1st round. That being said if you paid any attention to this teams growth throughout the year, it was obvious that they had the potential to be a buster. Underwood himself even said it was the best of the Lumberjack teams he'd coached.

UNI hits a half-court shot at the buzzer to win.

I have NO problem with them at all. What I have a problem is folks saying it's a travesty that they were a 14 seed, because with the combo of the OOC schedule and how putrid the Southland was, what do you expect?

I love watching the tears of the Texas players. Just beautiful to see the big boys week.

Cincy basketball is the roundball version of 2015 Army football. Just brutal.
