Officially ended the game with 5 errors, should have been 7 (had I been scoring). Would not be surprised to see some movement on the position players soon, because their batting averages are pretty poor and they are quite the defensive liability.

Wasted a good outing by one of our freshmen pitchers.

^^ When this guy puts it that bluntly, you know it's bad.

...and today was really bad.

Especially since you'll be playing real teams from here on out. Open with two of the three that won't make the tournament.

yep it's been a good warm-up in conference play but I still think it's to early to tell who the real teams are. USA has beaten UALR and UTA, two not so great teams, GS has beaten App and lost a series against troy so they are also unproven. Things are starting to shake out and the next two weeks will tell us a lot about the top of the league. I wouldn't count out ULL just yet either to make a run for the top, they always seem to be in the mix year in year out.

???

Conference moved up from 11 to 9 in RPI (warren nolan)
USA #12, TXST #99. Our mid week game is going to drop us but even if we lose all 3 this weekend our RPI should go up some. I'd rather we don't get swept, naturally, just making a point.

I believe that baseball stadium was built by the city for a minor league team the Edinburg Roadrunners mostly and to be shared by the school and others. It is pretty nice tho. UTSA also has access to a minor league park for big games.

Well, they certainly don't seem to ever use it.

TAMUCC uses Whataburger field for their big draws, as well. I saw their regular baseball field and it isn't anything to write home about; neither is their softball field.

uta has been playing a "marque game" over at Globe Life Park the last few years to 4-5000 fans. it is pretty cool atmosphere..the only way we can get the mothership to come to town. we beat em last year in the final inning..they were bummed..

Our OOC RPI is 198. Not too many years back our OOC was ranked anywhere from 5-15 so conference play kept us at or close to bubble team status. Just wow! However, we probably can't handle that type schedule anymore or are having a tough time getting those teams.
We've lost TCU and UH on our schedules, they always helped that RPI; especially when we swept UH on the road. I think we went 3 years running not losing to UH, or close to that; 8/9 or something

That's cause they sucked back then. Doubt it was much RPI help.

We swept them in Houston in 2010 when they went 25-32, then in San Marcos in 2011 when they went 27-32, then took 2 of 3 in Houston in 2012 when they went 18-35-1.

In 2013 they took 2 of 3 from us in San Marcos. They were 36-22 that year.

We split two mid-week games over the past two seasons.
