Big 12 Expansion Article, Dallas-Fort Worth Columnist Point of View on Expansion
http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-...conference

Cincinnati makes a great expansion candidate into the Ohio market.
Boise State brings in football to keep the Big 12 football in the credibility market. With the talks of adding schools, Boise State seems to be the one that can bring the best football program on the market no matter what. They do have a winning record against the PAC 12, Big 12 and the ACC. If they go to 14? UConn, BYU and Memphis are the next inline. I do not think UConn would be called upon. Memphis should be ahead of UConn since it is a better bridge to Ohio and West Virginia.

If you want monetary return you go with TV demographics. That equals USF & UCF

Arkansas Tech should be #1 expansion candidate. Delusional to think otherwise...

I'm not sure, West Texas A&M gives that lucrative Amarillo market.

Why not both?

I'm pulling for the Big XII to wise up and expand with UConn and Temple to the east and Boise to the west. I am aware that leaves the conference with an uneven number, but that allows for a full round robin conference schedule. Screw out of conference games! It also allows for the eventual departure of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, UConn and Iowa State for the Big 10 -- markets and AAU rule!!!!

sarcasmoff/

The Big XII isn't going to expand until they have to and right now, they don't have to.

I live in Russellville Arkansas. ATU is a fine place and someday soon they will be moving up to FCS division. But please don't hold anything against Tech, just because DavidSt is more than a little unrealistic.

If the Big 12 chooses Boise State, travel distance, academics, tradition and market size don't matter nearly as much as I always thought.

They have been very steady on tv viewership on ESPN and ESPN2. Boise State have the best football product out there right now from all the conferences for the past 16 years. Not one losing season.

Didn't the ACC choosing Louisville prove that academics and tradition don't matter nearly as much as we thought? A pro team with a college attached to it playing their athletics in venues named Pappa Johns Pizza Stadium and KFC burp! Fart! Arena. Boise with its gimmicky blue Albertsons grocery stadium and Taco Bell Smell Gym fit right in. Louisville getting into the country club should give Boise hope and add an extra stench to the club. I say fill the county club toilets up.
Cheers!

Sense some "Eastern" Carolina Butthurt...as for Louisville academics we are right there with Mississippi State and West Virginia...Mississippi State slightly ahead of Louisville and WVU slightly behind Louisville according to U.S.News and World Report...all 3 way ahead of Boise State and ECU...you'll be alright...07-coffee3

And Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State, and Kansas State.

How does an intelligent Bearcat spell "academic"? That's a trick question. We all know they spell it ACCADEMIC

Oh, well.

And it is useful for most reasonable people to understand that Louisville has made much more headway in most USNWR measures than most all P5 schools. By every single measure that USNWR uses, the University of Louisville is advancing. And by some, dramatically.

I do not think, when compared 10 years from now, that Louisville's P5 USNWR cohort will be OK St, K-State, WVU and TT. Instead it will be universities such as Florida State and NC State.
