This realtime bracket only has UC and UCONN in for right now...

Unless I missed Temple but I looked through it twice.

I think if Memphis wins UConn and Cincy are in Temple gets bumped out.

If you just look at the head to head numbers against UC and UConn it shouldn't be that way, but it will be.

2-1 vs UConn, 2-0 in the regular season
2-0 vs Cincinnati
7-2 in the regular season vs the conference top 5 including with a win at home vs SMU and wins at UC, UConn and Houston.
OOC SOS Cincinnati 141, UConn 114, Temple 104.

Based on all the number crunching metrics UConn and UC are well ahead of Temple, based on head to head and conference performance I don’t understand how.

Didn't beat anyone with a pulse during the non conference portion and have by far the worst loss of the three. I think the selection committees statement that they are going to pick the "best teams" really hurts temple here. Their BPI, Kenpom and Sagarin ratings are well behind UCs and UConns.

I guess it’s all a matter of if you use head to head actual games to judge the best team, the body of work like a full season of conference play, or outside factors like games outside of the conference to define the best team. Does a bad loss trump a 2-0 head to head record? How do you measure a “good loss”? 5 of 6 OOC losses for Temple this season are to teams who are projected in the NCAA and all are projected as single digit seeds, should that count for anything? I’m not debating any of this because I’m not on the committee I just don’t like seeing so many factors outside of actual head to head competition weight so much on the decision as to which teams make it and which don’t.

This has 3 in with UConn winning today and i can agree with that if UConn wins.

If Memphis wins that's where things get dicey for Temple.

It's hard to definitively say those teams are better than temple when collectively they are 1-4 against them (yeah I know, lucky). You can't definitively say Temple is better than UC or UCONN either. It all matters on what factors the committee chooses to use. This whole process is completely subjective. The UCLA selection last year proves that. It's hard for me to see Temple ahead of big name schools with a similar resume.

Agreed. If Memphis wins they knock out 1 bubble team, and that could be Temple.

That is the best description. Memphis is absolutely a bid stealer, if they win. It's just a matter of which team loses out. Could be any of 4 or 5.

Good Luck to Memphis! If you win, then all of the Tourney Champs in the state of Tennessee will go to the Dance while the two Cartel schools, Vandy and Tennessee stay home!

Temple is in trouble. Their best out of conference win according to the rpi is Fairleigh Dickinson (#204). They played a tough schedule but went 0-6 vs. top 60 in out of conference play and half of those games were blow outs.

Owls aren't going to get credit for winning the conference. They deserve credit but when everyone is a either a bubble team, SMU, or terrible, they aren't going to get it.

That's not what the pundits are saying.

The pundits all thought the Owls were in last year and they had a much better resume. Their rpi was 34 and they had a huge out of conference win over #3 Kansas.

The only thing the Owls have this season is winning the regular season AAC title.

A regular season AAC title is significant. SMU was part of that chase and they're one of the top programs in the country this year. Sweeping UCONN and Cincinnati (two tournament teams) is also huge.
Two potential AAC bubble teams (Tulsa and Houston) already fell off the other side of the bubble. SMU is ineligible. Temple, IMO - with the Regular Season title- is clearly on the right side of the bubble, with UConn and UC.

It looks like Temple fans can rest easy. Memphis getting it handed to them by the Huskies.

UConn will be a 9 seed in the midwest region. Cincinnati will be an 11 seed in the south. And Temple will be an 11 seed in the east. That's my predicition.

I sure hope we get 4 in. The one team that may get in, and you can argue either way, is Syracuse. This is Jim Boeheim's last year and he missed 9 games this year. I hope the committee is fair.

UConn plays Wichita State, Cincinnati plays Baylor, and Temple plays Michigan.

Syracuse does not deserve to get in. Boeheim was suspended, not injured.
