IF Murphy wins big next year, I'd think everyone should rally around him and the program.

That includes the AD.

A house divided will fall.

In 1964 the GOP had a civil war and lost the presidency.

1968 the Dems.

1976 the GOP.

1980 the Dems.

It is so easy to see when there are internal problems...

Sadly, EMU has more internal problems than successes in our major programs.

I'll assume the "quotes" mean you're kidding. Almost had me there for a moment.

We didn't/don't deserve a post season tourney. Let's win some games and earn it next year.

The quotes actually refer to the fact that that is not his real name. He has mentioned that he has/had a son who played running back for Canton High School. There was no running back for Canton with the name Wickersham. There was a running back with the name Wickens. So, Bob Wickersham is not his real name. Since it is a pseudonym I have chosen to use quotations when referring to him.

Just to be accurate this thread is about THIS year's team and a post season bid.

Just for the record many of us who don't believe THIS year's team doesn't deserve a post season bid based on its .500 conference record and wins against Div III teams believe and have predicted NEXT year's team should be the one to put us back to the top. Murphy better hope he does win next year with the team he has coming back or it will be Murphy potentially eating crow because its all he can afford.

By the way there were many of us who thought THIS year' women team would go to the NCAAs and NIT based on the talent on paper and it didn't turn out that way did it?

Correct. I believe Oakland wants to go.

It is Monday morning and I can't find fields for the Vegas 16 or WNIT.

Ugh. Lot of these tourneys start play Wednesday.

We'll when will the Wwomen 's NCAAS be announced?

The Vegas 16 should come out at some point today. The CIT is currently only showing 26 teams, which doesn't make for an even tournament, so I'd guess some would be added there after the 16 are announced.

The bracket for the 2016 Postseason WNIT will be announced on the evening of March 14.

Thanks.

It is my understanding that our men's team will NOT go to a tourney. It would take a 180 degree change in the Convo.

Sadly, as you indicate, there are still 22 teams which will receive bids. We will be watching the women play on...

What a SAD way to end a season which was hurt by the refs vs. BSU and a missed shot vs Akron at the end.

#This||Close

When I was young I heard this expression: Close only counts in love and horseshoes... How sad, very sad...

I 'm having flashbacks to the Lions' game with GB. :(

I never served in the military so maybe we were more concerned about women, not hand grenades. :)

I did play horseshoes as a child...

Anyone think it would be cool idea to have a tournament like (4/8) states. Pulling the best non tournament players for a small tournament?

Think a team from Michigan, or even a conference or region (maybe 4 teams)
1. Ray
2. Thompson
3. Bond

Good idea or Bad? What do you think? Each player could still develop his craft. think anyone would go?

Team name: Michigan Great Lakes

Dear greenandwhiteeagle,
Bad idea. Who would be the coach? Who would pick the players? Would it be sanctioned by the powers that be, if needed. Lastly, in my opinion, there are too many tournaments already.

i would go. the only downside is if the school has to pay for it. but if there was some sponsor that wanted to put this together it could be fun. i don't understand the complaints about too many tournaments. i love to watch basketball, so more options are great.

Aaron, I might be wrong and reading too much into some of these posts, but there seems to be a "fault line" in these discussion as to how one might feel about Murphy.

It seems clear that a tourney could, would or will cause Murphy to earn a one year rollover extension to his contract, and some here are decidedly against that.

And as the late Paul Harvey used to say, "and now the rest of the story....".

So it is the intersection of playing a "meaningless tourney" and Murphy's contractual status...

To me the tourney would be meaningless IF the players voted it such.

#LetThemVote.
