...he will leave the UofM as the most despised coach in the history of either the football or basketball programs... and thats saying something. He will be forever viewed as the coach who destroyed a once very proud basketball program, and then forced the school to honor a contract in which he, obviously, failed to meet expectations.

Next year's team will be lucky to win 10 games... given he plays a somewhat respectable non-conference slate... and attendance will hover around the 4-5k mark. That alone will be the death blow, so imagine if Parrish is right and we have to endure 2 more years of his leadership.

Josh is delusional in this sense. He doesn't think next year will be brutal, and believes those calling for his head are the minority.

$10.6 million could make me immune from that.

Anyone excited about the Holiday BB tourney in Destin this November?

Memphis gets to play Virginia.

Maybe, but I'd take 5-7 mil and get the heck out of town.

No, I'd hate the 4 years of hell I have to endure in order to get it. I could take 7 mil, and then make 1 mil per year as a recruiting assistant at UK, KU, etc... then I'd really only be out 2 mil or 500k per year. I'd take it in a heartbeat. After 2 more years of sub-.500 ball, Josh might position himself as unemployable as a head coach and cost himself far more money in the long run.

I'd stick it to them for one year, then when its so bad, I go on my way. It seems to be a good ole boy network, so he'll get a job somewhere.

I agree from a sanity standpoint. Yes, it is $10.6M dollars, but is being miserable and your family miserable worth all of that? I just wish a TCU or someone like that would be willing to hire him for $1 - $1.5M and we could work out a deal to pay the difference between that and the $2.65M he is over per year for 4 years. He gets his money and both parties improve their situation. Pie in the sky pipe dream

Any idiot can see that only reason me may be here next year is the $. Tough, Tough situation for both sides. Next year would be B-R-U-T-A-L if this really plays out that he is back.

I've said it before, but I do think there's some truth in my opinion that if he stays on and bleeds the university dry, he will do no good for himself in the eyes of other AD's around the country which is where his future career, if any, lies

If only there was a way the school could've accounted for that...

Blaming Josh for that is stupid.

He might be seen as the worst coach, but he won't be the most despised for me. That honor will probably always go to Cal.

Also "forced the school to honor a contract"? The guy has a dream job, and possibly the best job he'll ever have, at a proud university, and he's a monster for wanting to keep that job?

I think the message-board stuff of Josh as this greedy, nice-guy-con-artist who's now out to "stick it to the university" is just stupid. Yeah, we are losing WAY too much. Time for a new coach, yes. But oh, he's also a selfish monster that is tricking you all into thinking he's a nice guy so that he can laugh and roll around in piles of money at home? Please...
