That's going to be an interesting one.

When it was scheduled, I thought so. Now that it's upon us, what I see is a Tennessee team that's ready to contend vs. a Virginia Tech team that's in transition with a new coaching staff.

The one wild card: how will the Volunteer football team be affected by scandals, if at all.

I am far less optimistic than I was when we scheduled it. If it were another year or two out, it'd be a better game.

USF is on the road at Syracuse so that's a big one for us, and will have a bittersweet factor because it will be our first trip to the Carrier Dome in 5 years, since Syracuse left for the ACC, but our biggest OOC game is FSU in Tampa, 9/24.

RE: Big OOC Games For Your School Next Season
All ND games are OOC games. Here is its 2016 schedule:

2016 Football Schedule

S03 @ Texas
S10 NEVADA
S17 MICHIGAN STATE
S24 DUKE
O01 @ Syracuse (Meadowlands)
O08 @ North Carolina State
O15 STANFORD
O29 MIAMI
N05 @ Navy 11:30am CBS(Jacksonville)
N12 ARMY (Alamodome)
N19 VIRGINIA TECH
N26 @ Southern Cal

I think that Michigan State, Stanford and Southern Cal are the biggest games on the schedule.

Ole Miss opens with Florida State in what is being called a neutral site game at Orlando. Pretty tough right out of the gate, but at least there is a FCS breather the next week before having to face Alabama and Georgia the next two weeks.

Yep. Going to be wearing a hard hat that day. UM will likely kick our heads in.

NIU plays San Diego State at home this year, which I would consider a big game. Playing a conference game against Toledo at the White Sox' US Cellular field in Chicago, which is unusual at least. First football game to be played there.

Also playing USF and Wyoming on the road, and Western Illinois at home. No P5 schools for the first time I can remember.

Oh yeah, a game against the reigning MWC champs is definitely a big game.

I would try and forget Charlotte too, last time one of our teams visited it didn't end well for you guys:

Pitino Suffers Worst Home Loss

Also, your worse home defeat in basketball since 2001 when you got spanked by....Charlotte. I don't see it happening but maybe football can find a win to, maybe send some escorts to the players' dorm the night before. You guys seem keen on that.
