It just shows that as much as the Republican Party leadership is mortified of Trump, they absolutely HATE Cruz.

Cruz REALLY has torched a ton of bridges within the party. The underrated aspect of this is that Cruz hasn't just made the moderates and establishment-types in the party angry. Instead, the big issue is that he has terrible relations even with the Tea Party/Club for Growth-backed Senators that are generally in complete ideological agreement with Cruz. Why? Because Cruz has spent several years throwing even the most conservative Senators under the bus in the public and press as "not being strong enough to stand up to Obama" despite everyone knowing full well that they can't repeal Obamacare and other measures just by "trying harder". I saw one quote from a Tea Party-backed Senator (once again, NOT an establishment moderate) that said that Cruz's statements over the years has meant that his constituents keep calling to blame that Senator for not repealing Obamacare and other completely unrealistic measures. That REALLY has made even the most conservative members of the Senate pretty hostile to Cruz and why you have seen 100% dead silence from his Senate colleagues.

But why not Kasich or stay silent?

I'm sure there's some personal angle at least with respect to Christie. Kasich doesn't look like he's going to win the nomination, so there's little reason to support him if the end game for Christie is an Attorney General or other cabinet appointment (i.e. Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security). There also must be some personal bad blood between Rubio and Christie (as the endorsements have largely been falling Rubio's way over the past couple of weeks).

Christie isn't the type to simply sit on the sidelines, so I'm sure he wants to use his political capital in some manner, especially when he actually does have some legit influence. This is actually a great endorsement for Trump. Indeed, you can pass off endorsements from the likes of Sarah Palin as fringe support, but getting Christie's support (a Republican that has had to win a broad coalition in a state that is generally hostile to the GOP) is a coup.

Is it me, or does Rubio just talk much too fast. Also, he is getting pummeled by Bret Baier on Fox.

Dennis Rodman also supported Trump today. Which is important for The Donald in that all-important cross-dressing, ex-athlete, North Korea loving demographic.

It is big for Trump.

There was an article a while back from anonymous Christie insiders. Christie thought Rubio was way too green to run for president. Rubio also attacked Christie in ads and was working on and had pulled some of his traditional big money contributors. I'm kind of with Christie on Rubio.

I don't remember him being that way early in the campaign. He just seems desperate to get his words out. I think he's showing signs of exhaustion. Pumping himself with Red Bull or something more potent.

I like to think so, but I sense he's going to keep fighting right up until Cruz tosses him in the path of the Trump steamroller

Rubio is done because he decided to go into the gutter...so to speak. He didn't know it before, but now he has Trump and Christie to contend with. He is in unfamiliar territory and will get his clock cleaned.

By Tuesday, Marco's career might be finished.

I heard Rubio on Fox today. How many times can he say Reagan and con-man during a single interview?

He was repeating it so fast that he sounded like one of those disclaimers at the end of an advertisement.

If you watch the endorsement Christie comes across as, I don't know how to describe it. Like he was a kid that thought he was the tough guy of the neighborhood but found out that this other guy was and he is knocked down to the role of sidekick. It was kind of sad.

Everyone has to learn somehow. I'm hoping that this experience can humble Christie a bit, and that should make him a more polished and calculated politician in the future. Maybe.

Bret Baier knocked him down a notch when he brought up amnesty and introduced him to the reality of his position in polls.

RE: Christie endorses Trump
Jeff Sessions also just endorsed Trump, the first current Senator to do so. He would have won Alabama already, but this may help him a bit in some neighboring states where the polls are still close.

It's also considered a blow to Cruz since Sessions is one of Cruz's only friends in the Senate. But Sessions apparently has been advising Trump some the past few months so it's not a complete surprise either.
