Louisville, maybe?

Ohio State maybe.

I think thad will get more time to turn it around, but this'll be 3 straight down years.

Likely (or should) have some more years. Dude had quietly had a ridiculously good run at tOSU, not to mention Xavier and Butler.

14 NCAA appearances in 15 seasons, NIT Title in the other.
2 S16's
2 E8's
1 FF
1 NC game

He's just trending down recently, if it continues for 2 more years he may be cut loose from OSU. Not saying he hasn't had a good run there.

Yeah, it's just tough not to "trend down" when you are going to s16, E8 and NC's.

I think the next year will be a good barometer. Loses no one from this roster and adds a another Top 100 PF. The team is actually playing better as the season has progressed (hmmm) and is 4th in the B1G. Has remaining games at home vs. Iowa and MSU plus @MSU to end the season.

RE: What about Archie Miller?
Unfortunately, the Atlantic-10 (Dayton) is also a stronger hoops league than the AAC. At least for now.

It won't happen. But the above is one of several reasons why I wish we would invite Wichita State to spell Navy's West spot and improve basketball strength. I get the "no hybrids!" standpoint, but as non-P5 league, I think it is OK to me small exceptions.

The damage is already done this season, I think. I don't think they get into the tourney. Again, he may pull out of the tailspin next season with the roster returning, but if he misses again he's on the hotseat.

Yeah, the Memphis loss is the worst RPI loss (149) for them this year.

Miller or Marshall would be great. I suspect they both have their eye on bigger/better jobs.

Marshall, Miller, Pearl, in no particular order. Would be over the top happy with any one of them.

RE: What about Archie Miller?
I really don't get the not interested part. I know I'm a born and bred Memphis fan, but this is a good job. You have a great fan base. You play in an NBA arena. You have great facilities. The money is there for this to be a big time job. HS players still remember us, and I think it would be easier to recruit here than Dayton or Wichita State. Our league is watered down at this point, and the blueprint for winning and getting a good seed in the tourney was done here (by Cal - jerk...). And, now that you're no longer following Calipari, I just see this as another plus....

Sign me up for Archie! This guy does way way more with less, compared to Josh's situation here. I would go after Archie hard and make it very difficult for him to say no.

Why play this game? He'll name five schools, and you'll try and refute some of them.

The bottom line is this: Archie Miller ain't taking the job. As Canes said, he's waiting for a better job. Is what it is. Accept it.

yes doesn't matter if there are 5 better, if Miller thinks there are others that may be opening, he'll chill out. Marshall has no reason to move. He's making 3.3MM in Kansas.

Because you'll say they aren't better jobs or, if they are, they aren't opening. You'll try to explain why you think Archie Miller should take the Memphis job. Thing is, Archie won't take it. Guys like Archie Miller, Brad Stevens, Shaka Smart, etc. bypass places like Memphis. They've made names for themselves and don't have to settle for less than a powerhouse program or the NBA.

We have a little competition, but they aren't world beaters. They all have coach-repelling problems that we don't at the moment.

The possible big name job openings
Arkansas - no idea how it is viewed
Minnesota - not a better job
NC State - maybe equal
Ok St. - not a better job
Louisville - better job but unattractive at the moment
Indiana - better job, will be unattractive if they fire Crean this year
Georgia Tech - LOL
