The annual intrasquad scrimmage between the Cardinal and Black teams moves to Friday night in 2016. Get a sneak peek and a first look at the 2016 Huskies. More details on the scrimmage, as well as other possible weekend activities will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year, the game was on the most perfect Saturday weather-wise I have ever experienced. I did not want to leave the stadium. It was perfect. And it was on a Saturday, so I was able to attend with a group of 4.

Ya that was a head scratcher for me having this game on a Friday.

Maybe they want to stream the game on ESPN4,563,021.

The reason I've been going is it's often a nice sunny Saturday afternoon. And Friday doesn't work as well either. Bummer.

I can't figure out this hatred for scheduling things on a Saturday. Oh well, not like I'm missing much.

Maybe better for getting recruits to the game. Don't have to compete against other D1 schools in the area.

Is the X's and O's not happening this year?

the last night spring game I remember there was a garage sale that day during the day with the game starting at 6 or 7. It might have been a Thursday. it was pretty fun to pick up some cheap stuff and watch some football. I remember it was cold as all get out. I'm glad I bought a hat at the garage sale.

Surprised that nobody has complained about the price yet.

I'm all for the game at Sox Park, but this baffles me. This seems to be done to intentionally discourage people from attending. I can't think of any reason to have the Spring game on Friday night instead of Saturday. Oh well, I was looking forward to going again this year, but no way would I use PTO for a Spring game. This decision is rather puzzling.

Who says it will be Friday night? It could be at noon!

It seems like they don't want people to go. No big deal, it's not exactly a "game" anyway, but still.

Yeah, they changed it to Friday to keep people away. Makes a lot of sense.

I would bet that their target audience for this is the students. Maybe go a little PJ and add a DJ. We already know they are setting up The Endzone Club but maybe they will test out selling beer to the students on the East side.

Carey said that the spring game will be when Hare is ready. He has an aunt's birthday party on the Saturday, so Friday works better for Hare. Plus he wants to get out of an ECON final.

I think that's a great idea. Go the SMU route, everyone who presents a valid ID gets a wristband with 3-5 tabs on it. Order a beer? Get a tab removed. Keeps you from overserving people

What about 1 tab per quarter....that might get most of the students to stick around for the 4th quarter.

Has anyone bothered to ask the athletic department why the game will be on Friday night vs. Saturday afternoon ? I have to believe that there is a solid reason for the change other than creating an attendance issue for some...
