All right Temple fans, what does this match up look like? I have honestly not seen Nova play once this year. It must be that great media deal they have on some channel no one gets. Are they perimeter oriented? Big inside?

Big game only 4 hours until tip-off, Big 5, I’m excited.
A few keys to the game (IMO)
Nova D, they are holding opponents to 61 points per game, they are tough, Temple will need to break 70 to win.
Temple needs to handle 6ft 11 Daniel Ochefu inside and at 6ft 8 Bond will have his hands full. Bond will need to stay out of foul trouble and Temple will definitely need meaningful minutes on the defensive end from 6ft 10 freshman center Ernest “Big Ern” Aflakpui. Because of injury he hasn’t played since January 31 but was a starter for the 4 games prior to his injury.
DeCosey should step up as a senior leader and have a big game, but for Temple to win at least 1 other player will need to have a breakout game. The 2 top candidates I would say would be Coleman who had 23 vs SMU including 7 for 7 from 3, or Obi who’s coming off an 18 point game vs USF.
Temple needs to play good physical defense and limit the second chance points. Nova is averaging over 75 points per game, Temple needs to keep the game in the high 60’s to have a shot.
A wild card in the game can be the refs. If the refs let them play and swallow the whistle it favors Temple, but if the refs start calling it close, especially early in the game, it could be a long night for the Owls.
Look for the rollouts, another Big 5 tradition. Should be a few creative ones regarding Jalen Brunson and his dad Patrick Ewing.
For those interested in the Patrick Ewing Jalen Brunson reference, this article gives more details but the headline and quote below pretty much sums it up.
Headline: Rick Brunson Accused Of Sexual Assault, Using "Patrick Ewing" As Alias
Quote from the article: Maybe you haven't thought much about Brunson in 15 years, but this could have implications for his alma mater, Temple University, which was reportedly planning to hire Brunson as an assistant coach. One might note cynically that Brunson's son, Jalen, is the No. 1 ranked PG prospect in the nation, and has a formal offer from Temple.
For those of you watching nationally, this matchup has a lot of local rivalry and history. Villanova , or more accurately Vilenova has a long history of breaking up what was the true Big 5. They used backdoor tactics to keep Temple out of the old Big East for hoops. They claim to be a Philly team when its convenient. They are not in Philly. They have consistently lied and cheated throughout the years at many levels.
They are a blue blood, Long Island rich boy school, that think they are a tradition right there with Duke and Kentucky. They are hated by fans of the other 4 Big Five schools.
I dont get too cranked up about them, because they usually choke in the NCAA tournament.

Thanks, I have said it before, I really like DeCosey, hope he has a big game.
