UAB shot 60% overall, 60% from 3, and 86% from the free throw line. 54 bench points.

RPI probably dropped 20 spots.

Sitting at 97.

He is a senior and only his second year playing for us after his transfer. There is a lot of talent coming in next year with recruits and transfers sitting on the bench. There is probably a starting line up sitting out this year. We will be fine. The rest of the league better worry about the rest of our team heating up. Freeman is starting to get some support.

I'll take my chances with Freeman gone against your talent coming in. That guy is good.
Yeah he's ridiculous. If he's not cusa player of year ilk be shocked.

I've been waiting for us to put together 40 minutes of basketball. Tonight sure looked like it.

For all of our C-USA brothers & sisters who despise our refs, I give you UAB head coach Jerod Haase drawing the FIRST technical of his coaching career tonight:

I don't personally blame Refs for any losses or wins, but it is comical how bad and inconsistent they've been for...hell, ever?? Truly pitiful in the aggregate and only passable at their best. Probably the one thing that every CUSA fan, players, and coaches can all agree upon.

High School, you've gotta be kidding. My middle school gym looked better. And may have been bigger. You shouldn't be playing in a
gymnasium atmosphere, especially at the IA level, you should have an arena.

I'll disagree in that a lot of small D-1 colleges in the northeast and south play in gymnasiums and it works for them, but this is C-USA. Being in C-USA meant something not that long ago, and hopefully with some investment it can again one day.

once upon a time cusa was the metro (was a pretty damn good conference that I wish would've stayed intact coupled with the football evolution at that time)....some of them had gyms too...gyms left....all we had was a yurt ...we still have a yurt of butt hurt...

While not a hard foul, that was a pretty obvious foul. He should have thrown his coat at the big stiff #33 for not moving his feet and being late to help.

He is great, but I think James Kelly has just as good a shot currently averaging 20.3/9.7.

It was a planned outburst in honor of Gene Bartow. The coat toss was his signature move. The FAU coach knew that it was a stunt. Haase was high giving players after and giving thumbs up to the crowd.

Excerpt from link since the poster didn't tell you why he really got the tech:

Haase even got called for a technical foul with 6:20 left and UAB up 83-48, yelling "that's a really bad call" and throwing his jacket. It was the first in his four years at UAB and the jacket throw was a way to honor Bartow, who was famous for that during his coaching years.

Haase, who got only one technical foul as a head coach of the North Carolina junior varsity team in five years, decided before tipoff that the technical would happen.

"It was a way for the fans and my team and myself to try and honor coach and appreciate what he did," Haase said.

I've seen every team in CUSA play this season, several of them in person, and I'd have to agree with you. I'd be shocked too if he doesn't get the award this season. No disrespect meant to the winner but he should have gotten the award last year too. Probably didn't because they gave it to the first place team senior versus the lower seeded team guy playing his first year in the league. They gave him first team honors and newcomer of the year awards instead. It happens.

If Charlotte has some inside talent coming in for next season then they should be a very tough team to contend with. ODU has what appears to be a lot of talent coming in next season (several of them transfers - like Freeman was) and should be fine in spite of the tremendous loss of Freeman.

To underscore the incompetency of the refs, one of them threw an inbounds pass for UTEP yesterday. Seriously. Terry Winn (I think) was waiting for the ball from the ref and Omega Harris (I think) was set up for the inbounds pass from Winn. The ref seriously threw the ball to Harris. Maybe it slipped out of his hands. But, it sure as heck looking like he just threw it directly to Harris.

Of course, didn't change the outcome of the game one iota. But, that's not even College Officiating 101. That's something dads refereeing an 8 year old YMCA game don't screw up.

No, it would have happened, but the refs wouldn't have called it because they cheat for UAB.
