Next week everyone will forget, and it will be just another win for UAB and loss for Marsh.

There's a good chance we will have to play these guys two more times and we will need to win both. That's a scary prospect.

So true. Anyone think there's a correlation to the drop of our league's reputation?
I think the bigger contributor to the drop off in the leagues reputation is the abundance of crappy teams

UAB led from the 9:04 mark until the end. Marshall almost sniped one from us, but it wasn't like they were changing leads the whole game.

You are absolutely right that it shouldnt have been that close. It seems like our team goes brain dead when we get down the stretch with a lead: poor clock management drives me batty. On 2 of the last 3 posessions before that 7.6 seconds fandango, we put up quick, sloppy shots instead of running the clock; on the third possession, we ticked it down too far and Brown's layup didnt count. Come on coach, drill some discipline into their game so it doesnt get out of hand and cost us big BIG.

RE: UAB @ Marshall Game Thread 1/30/16
Really !!! Maybe we should show up with the fan sportsmanship award and give Marshall a victory today.
In 1985 we had a 22 point second half lead with 10 minutes to go in the semis of the Sun belt tourney . VCU turned the game into tackle basketball and we lost . It was one of the most frustrating things I've even witnessed. The referees still owe us another Conference tourney title and 3 spots in seeding in the tourney.
We got screwed in the foul column for the past two games. Marshall had two guys that spent more time on the floor than the logo .
Johnson for WKU cleared out our thin big men for topper layups all night. Madison established position and Loop made a face and flopped, taking possessions away from us today.
You guys all saw Nick go down in the slick spot at WKU while driving for a layup to tie the game. Do you think the Toppers are going call and say "Dude, sorry about the sweaty, lets replay it"???
Basketball is a contact sport. Tosin got arm, hand and ball. If you think it should have been called, then consider it a makeup call on the previous 15 drives Taylor had where he bumped our defender out of the way with no call.

Absolutely agree. We had a chance to put that game away without controversy but had some extremely poor offensive possessions in the last 2 minutes. You didn't even mention the shock clock violation in the final minute. I love the perseverance and poise we've shown a the very end of games but it's the lack of poise during the final minutes that has put us in those situations.
Btw, I hope we destroy Marshall when they come to Bartow so we can assure their fans that they are not the better team.

No doubt. But what I mean is that I wonder if we are scraping the bottom of the barrel on officials because the better ones are calling games in better leagues.

What standard are our men in stripes held to when Curtis Shaw is their boss ?

Wasn't able to watch it, but glad we got out of there with a win. Crane's commentary on the review by the officials was priceless.

Huge win in terms of league standings. We now lead the standings by a full game and own the head to head over the 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Yep, I did mention that shot clock violation : " on the third possession, we ticked it down too far and Brown's layup didnt count. "

We watched the game at a restaurant also, no sound but at least we didnt have to contend with fans of other games ( ours was the only one being shown at my request ). I cussed, cheered, and slapped my table top so many times I was afraid they would toss me out, hehe.
