NO argument can be made when you factor in the past. This is about going forward and when you look at our conference (and how we stack up), our recruits, the feel of the program, and the direction...I still maintain that the BB program has elevated itself to the point that it is more promising than the FB program.
Our glorious football team may have one more run left (if Hare is healthy), but our future is in doubt. Other than our past, what argument can we make that points to more championships (next year is a hope)? Objectively speaking.
First and foremost, there are how many games left in basketball? So comparisons are invalid, period.
But if you insist on doing this, then explain your parallels. Where on the football schedule is the equivalent of such pathetic opposition as Eureka, Indiana Northwest, Judson, and Roosevelt? Even UIC, Chicago State and CS-Northridge can't be compared to Murray State. From an SOS perspective, Ohio State basketball is not OSU football.
Are you saying men's basketball will play in the MAC Championship game?, because that's what football did.
Aside from MD and others who insist bowl games are pointless, which post-season men's tourney equals what bowl game?
You throw in a caveat (if Hare is healthy), okay, God forbid, what happens if basketball has a major injury during the next month? dekalb222 has been using that caveat on an annual basis.
If you have a 40-story high rise, yes basketball is on an elevator going up, but it started on the ground floor and it's nowhere near the top yet. Football may be in an elevator going down but elevators going down make far more frequent stops than the ones going up. Let's just wait and see what happens.
