Josh throws Markel under the bus for not fighting through a screen
But has a player on the bench who fights through screens harder than any Tiger I've seen in the last 20+ years who he has played a grand total of 4 minutes over the last 4 games after starting the previous 5 games and averaging around 20 minutes a game.

Oh please, Sam took Martin's spot because he's a better player. Who knows why josh hasn't played jeremiah. Kid is great defender but in inept on the offensive side of the floor and needs to add some pounds. Im sure its some sort of "internal matter" as usual though

Btw, I think Josh needed to dial that blame back a little bit. He brought it up during the in-game interview and then harped on it again at the press conference. Apparently, ducking that screen early in the first half cost us the game.

Asked about the final play, Pastner said Craft didn't execute it correctly.
"Sam should not have set a screen. He was getting a screen, but he set a screen, which delayed the whole play a second," he said. "We've scored on that play a couple a couple other times. But he did not execute it exactly as we had it, so the timing was off by a second."

Pastner blamed at least some of Tyson's hot shooting on sophomore guard Markel Crawford, who started but played just 10 minutes.
"They hit a bunch of 3s, and it started the first play with B.J. Tyson. Markel cut the screen underneath and (gave Tyson) confidence and he was on fire ever since," Pastner said. "I've been here seven years and we've never taught cutting screens - ever - and that was one of our key things."

LMAO
I'm beginning to think nascar dude is actually Josh.

It's the mark of a truly terrible coach to make such remarks regarding a player. You're the coach. You shut your da*ned mouth and take the blame for your own failures.

Cal publicly singled out players as well at times.

Perhaps Pastner is lying or is just a crap communicator.
Here is a post from the Memphis-Georgetown Maui game in 2011.
Dude (Clark) from Gtown was on fire from three in the game and the Tigers were up by 1 in overtime. After a timeout, Antonio went UNDER a pick and allowed the Gtown guard a wide open three.
So this crap was happening back then, too.

There are some (and I mean some) posters who just ***** to *****.
Others, I believe, use this forum as a sounding board for unanswered questions and to help figure out how things go wrong. It is not necessarily negative, it is just a way to air questions and have others explain or debate what other things could have been done.
For example, after watching the end of the Georgetown game, I (like most folks) was concerned about the way the end of regulation and overtime went down. That has been discussed.
Not discussed nearly as much was a play where the Tigers were up 86-85 with a minute to go and Georgetown ran a pick at the top of the key. Antonio Barton went UNDER the pick, leaving Jason Clark free to take (and make) a three pointer.
Was Pastner coaching the players to go over or under the pick?
That is a legitmate question, because anyone who knows a little about basketball should know that you should NEVER let a guy who was 6 for 7 from 3pt land in the previous game and 3 of 6 in that game to get an open look with a minute to go.
If that question is asked, I expect part of that conversation to focus on two people: Barton and Pastner. First, did the coach instruct guys to go under or over the screen and second, did the player follow the instructions?
That error should have NOT been made. That was completely preventable and should have been anticipated. Perhaps Josh, being a new coach failed to reiterate that point at the most recent timeout. Pehaps he stressed it in prectice or in shootarounds before the game. Maybe this was a learning experience and he'll make sure to communicate that better when the situation dictates.
In any event, a person who raises these issues in this type of manner isn't a "miserable," a "hater" or an "sctf." This kind of person is actually a knowledgeable fan who looks beyond the senseless jibberish and asks legitimate questions that can be discussed and debated.
I don't think anyone legitimately is "dogging" Pastner or questioning his overall knowledge and ability, BUT when simple mistakes happen in crucial situations fans have the right to wonder what the heck is going on.

why is he dependent on a 1st year walk-on off the football team to bail out the team against ECU?
