That's not the point of the thread. Playing Sam and playing Jeremiah does not have to be mutually exclusive, Jeremiah can play the 2 or even the 3.

They both fight hard through screens, if fighting through screens is an emphasis within our defense it would seems like you would find minutes for one of the two guys on the team who actually do it consistently. Martin isn't any worse on offense that Markel. If you take Markel out for not fighting through the screen(he only got 10 minutes Sunday), do you give those minutes to someone who does fight through screens or do you give those minutes to another player who has always been a liability on defense (Woodson got 31 minutes sunday).

Well, on the positive side, that's what they all when they are fixin to be gone.

It's kind of like the last stage.

But honestly, it's very close to insisting you are a good coach while the team crumbles.

So if he says game-specifics about things he saw as problems in the game, it's strictly throwing players under the bus and he should shut up. If he doesn't say those things it's "he has no clue and just says 'we gotta make shots' ". Too general is bad, and too specific is bad. What's the "right" post-game presser? "Well, *somebody* didn't get through their screens" or just "Well, I'm a terrible coach and we lost because I didn't prepare the guys"?

I think this is a true sign that Josh is out and he knows it. jmo

When Randall came into the game I knew Josh had no idea what to do...

It was throw crap at the wall time.

When you start calling out specific players instead of the whole team, the team might decide to rally around the one he's picking on. Does he, for example, pick on AW in national interviews.

I don't listen to the interviews and always have the sound muted now, so my question is an honest one.


Basketball is a team sport...it's petty to single out one 3 second incident that happened on a court of fast moving players.

And it keeps on happening so Josh can justify the losses. He should be taking the heat for the loss; not singling out players.

Actually, nobody has been watching Martin for the last 4 games.

That's because he is NOT READY TO PLAY. We are hampered enough with our coach-let the kid develop.

JP recruited these players, he coaches these players. Markel played uninspired D but only played 10 mins. I can name 6-7 other guys who all played either uninspired D or dumb D for most of the game as individuals & as team D - again JP is the coach. JPs team is 8-10 guys deep better than ECU in terms of talent. No excuses, I'm throwing the coach & the players under the bus for the ECU game - just awful all around. I said "I'm" throwing the team & the coach under the bus, JP as the coach can't do that & expect to get these guys motivated.

Acknowledge mistakes. Say what we did right and wrong. Talk about the general plan of any play you want but don't single out any player.

Josh is wrong on this for one reason, he had a guy who swallowed blood while shooting free throws to win a game sitting on the bench the final play. I have no issues with Crawford sitting on the bench but the other is a head scratcher. Ricky has to be in games down stretch with ball in his hands to give us best chance to win.

Thing is when you have one or two players not doing something you do not get onto the entire team. You get onto the players who are not doing the job. The others are busting their asses and doing what is asked of them.
