One thing I do know, BE people do know that their conference is in a world of uncertainty at the moment. BE football has to prove they are BCS worthy and have been giving every oportunity by the BCS Committee to do so. If that wasn't the case, they would not need a lifeline from the BCS Committee in the first place.
There are some very knowledgeable BE posters and then there is Cat's Claw, L-Yes & Wilkie01 and a few others. They want to believe that the BE is fine and will even be better than it was before. But they got some obstacles to overcome.
Louisville is not Miami or Va Tech though they would like for you to believe that. They can't live off beating Bama 20 years ago, beating an average FSU team a couple of years ago or almost beating Miami last year. Their potential is unlimiting but they need to prove it on the field by beating the upper echelon of the Big 5 BCS conferences.
UC by comparison to a BCS football program is a joke. A 100+ years of playing football and what do they have to show for it? The only time they can sellout their stadium is if Ohio St and maybe Miami, OH is playing in it. Their city don't care about college football and if WVU, UL or Pitt isn't playing their they will continue to not have sellouts.
USF actually has more upside than UC. They need to upgrade facilities but just because they had a couple of impressive seasons they got a bone from the BE which pissed off the Memphis people. They may turn out wishing they had went with UCF instead. They still have time to correct an error.............maybe. But right now, USF is a BCS program joke as well.
The biggest joke is that the parception is out there that these three schools can somehow save the BE and are adequate replacements for Miami, Va Tech and BC. The only schools that can save the BE are the reminding original members. They can reincarnate CUSA all they want but if the Northeast schools don't perform on the field this league will be taken as a joke by their own fans.
Meanwhile, CUSA trudges onward with nowhere but up to go. Football will be better and more competitive than ever and I'm looking forward to it. We have 5 or 6 bowls while the BE will be wondering why they can't get any love.
If anyone remember the pic of the sinking CUSA ship with UL, UC and USF sailing away from it, it would be great if someone could redo that photo and name it the BE ship with all the major bowls games sailing away from it.
Go CUSA!

Quote: just landed the Gator/Sun
One question.
Where does the Big Least #2 play the years that the Sun and Gator get the team they actually want, Notre Dame, instead of being forced to take a second rate Big Least team? Big drop off from the Gator/Sun to the Tire Bowl.

Hmm, care to share which CUSA bowl is having a payout of somewhere between 14-17 million? I'm real interested to hear this response.

It rotates every year; next year it will be the Rose Bowl.

I hope u are right... but if u read the liberty bowl site... they are talking about this year. Its been in at least 2 newspapers that liberty is considering SEC/BE#3 match up.

if 1 writer messes up somewhere, it often pervades other newspapers a day or two later...

I agree it could very well be 1 writer just copy catting another writer. but it also could be something he hears from some of his sources... who knows. as for the BE losing $$$$ in these new bowl deals ... that isnt going to happen. the gator payout is going up... and they keep BCS bowl... everything else they had was pretty low rent already.. they do just fine on bowl$$$$. However if we lose liberty... and replace it with... our next best hope houston... we lose out.
