RE: JMU @ Elon predictions
I understand why Matt struggles to play Morgan. Matt gives up some offense to play him. Earlier in the season I did not see the energy and defensive ability that I have seen more recently. I feel like Matt is finding a role for him. He is the fourth best guard on this team but it is a strong and deep team.

Just gotta figure out a combination to pair him with. Don't want to see him with Vodo/Lukic as that makes it only three offensive threats. He has a role and can be an effective weapon.

That feed of the game made it tough to watch, but it looked like Elon was gassed in the second half. At one point, they missed 6 straight free throws and were something like 1 for 16 from three point range. In the first half, the Phoenix made 9 of 13 from three point range.

Some are asking for Matt to have a shorter bench. I disagree. Our depth will pay dividends in Feb. and March as some teams wear down. I do worry about Curry. He is one player who has logged a lot of minutes. Matt needs to be mindful of that.

I will be shocked if we dont se a shorter bench in crucial games. Curry has to be on the floor because he is so much better than the next available guard.

The tournament is a grind, but the automatic TV timeouts help. You have to play your best players as much as you can in crunch time.

I think our depth helps us in regards to the way that the CAA schedule is set up this year with games 2 days apart. Having a deep bench gives us the ability to rest players during games Thursday and also allows for more subs in the Saturday games when the other team may be getting tired. I think you saw that very distinctly in the 2nd half of the Elon game where they looked tired and started missing shots while we continued to be fresh.

This should also play out during the tourney when we have to win three games.

Yep. There really is no fall off from starters to subs. I agree Curry is the leader and go to guy late in games. With the rest of the team, we have no idea who is going to be at the top of their game each night. That is the beauty of the depth this team has. If one or two starters are not getting it done, their is someone sitting on the bench that can.
