The rest of these fools are just taking up space with no hope of winning. If they want to be VP or Secretary of something, I think we have enough on tape now to see if they are worthy. We should learn from 4 years ago and quit subjecting our possible nominee to 8 million debates with 4 million candidates that aren't going to be the nominee.

Jeb would be a good VP, it's in his blood.

I think Jeb is pretty much done. IF it wasn't for his money, I would have written him off long ago. If he cannot finish in the top 3 in NH, he should drop out. He isn't going to win in the South and I'm not sure where he gets a foothold.

I think he would be a good VP. I don't think he really has the want to be President anyway.

2 out of Bush, Christie and Kasich will drop out after New Hampshire. And maybe 3 out of those + Rubio. South Carolina will have Trump, Cruz, 1 or 2 out of that group and maybe Carson and Fiorina hanging around. Paul and Huckabee drop out after Iowa. Santorum after Iowa or NH. Gilmore drops out whenever he gets bored, which could be tomorrow. Could be after Super Tuesday. Carson and Fiorina drop out no later than South Carolina unless Carson does surprisingly well. Then he lasts through Super Tuesday.

I don't think so. The GOP has kept this process open to people regardless of their polling. There is no reason to drop out because there is no loss of publicity. The GOP should restrict future debates to 6...then make it 5...then make it 4. When people cannot get on stage they'll start dropping out.

But with 8 million debates, all you need is a coach airfare ticket to stay in the race.

They still need money. And some votes. New Hampshire is a make or break battle for Bush, Kasich and Christie. Winner may still be in, other two are out. May need to beat Rubio as well. Might cripple Rubio if he loses to 1 or more of those 3.

Super Tuesday will see Trump, Cruz, 1 out of those 4 (actually 1 of 3-it won't be Kasich-Rubio will knock him out in South Carolina if he survives NH) and maybe Carson.

If Trump got his way, we'd have unprecedented tariffs on imported goods. Not very libertarianish.

Ron Paul and his ilk are also against building a US-Mexico wall.

There are quite a few examples of how Trump would be willing to pull some strong levers of government. So that said, I don't think Trump and Ron Paul/libertarians are cut from the same cloth.

I don't want any of the worthless top 4. If that stays we're guaranteed to have at least 4 more years of really bad presidents. Trump, Hillary, Sanders and Carson are clueless, Cruz gets everyone to hate him, Rubio is too green.

Yeah, the field is pretty disturbing, even more so than usual.

When Jeb threw his hat in the ring, I did what a lot of people did and winced at the "Bush" name. But I think he'd be better than some of these frontrunners.

Rand Paul is a quitter. We dont need a quitter in the white house. Just goes to show he was never serious about winning, he was just wanting to be on the primary stage for the exposure.

With Carson's NH staff quitting to join Cruz, I'd like to see Carson remove himself from the debate. I'm a big fan but it appears he is fading on weak foreign policy.

Rand Paul lost it back in 2014 when he got in bed with McConnell. Almost all his actions since then has reflected that. It's a shame because I like his overarching philosophy and he had a lot of promise. He just sold out.

RE: Next Republican Debate Participants Set
Kasich is not dropping out. He's in it until the end.

His entire strategy is in the case that no one has the required delegates to take a first ballot win, the convention will coalesce behind him and reward him with the nomination. (Odds, probably no better than 1 in 20.) He brings Ohio to the electoral column and with Rubio as Veep, Florida too. Those two states are absolutely crucial to a win.

The Republicans know that neither Trump nor Cruz can win the general election. You can argue with me but I base that on the one simple point that neither polls well with Independents. Independents swing every election. Romney won the independent vote but not by enough. For a Republican to win, he (OK, he or she) needs at least 60% of their votes and neither Trump nor Cruz tops 40%.

Supporters of Trump and Cruz should think twice about what they are going to give the country, Hillary.

In the past this was true. However, if you have 40 debates and allow everyone to participate, then that is instant publicity. In the past, you would drop out because no one paid attention to you and you couldn't pay for adverts. Now, everytime there is a debate, you get to go programs and talk about it before and after the debate. Even Rick Santorum is still doing interviews. IF we start limiting the numbers, then these people will finally go away. Until then, there is no incentive (save embarrassment...see Lindsey Graham) for these folks to quit.
