RPI is garbage, almost as bad as using win pct.

Pomeroy
is closer to Vegas, which is closest to the truth . . .

47 LR
65 UTA
98 GSU

168 ULL
181 ULM
186 stAte

227 Troy

260 TXST
273 USA
288 APP

308 GS

Doesn't the NCAA use RPI though for tourney selections?

All Sun Belt teams were presented the opportunity to broadcast their own games and provide the feed to ESPN3 this season. Georgia Southern elected not to do that. Georgia State, App State, Arkansas State, and Texas State agreed to it.

Yes, RPI is probably the most important "ranking" to track, even if it is very flawed. I don't have numbers in front of me, but I'm going to guess that an RPI of around 50 or better has been important for at-large bids over the last several years.

It's more about production. Schools have to pay to produce their own broadcasts. We had to go out for instance and hire a PBP and Color guy to call our ESPN3 games, and work things out with our student run TV station to produce the broadcasts.

I'm not sure Georgia Southern is where they need to be in that area yet.

RPI becomes increasingly important as more games are played.

Which do you think is more "predictive" of final RPI? Current RPI or current Pomeroy? At this point, I'd say pomeroy is a better indicator of final rpi than the rpi itself is. Not sure, just a hunch.

Long killed us tonight. Well that and us shooting 25% for the game and 1 of 14 from 3.

The biggest cheer tonight was when FB coach Summers addressed the crowd at half and said recruiting was going very well.

Glad we got our SG Montalvo back. We looked awful the past two games without him.
