And there are more and better players than Johnny Football, Kobe, that they em to get obsessed with. Why I should care about Manziel not showing up for a meaningless game when there are several games that have playoff implication that can be covered.

The whole Manziel thing pisses me off. What is he even supposed to be good at? What has he ever done that in any way resembles a pro quarterback? And the whole Cleveland thing has been terrible for Austin Davis. Amazingly, being used as a stick to punish Johnny Football isn't a good career move. No one involved with that franchise has any business running a football team. Stupidest **** I've seen in a while, probably since the whole Faton Bauta thing at UGA.

what people now deem as important is disturbing to me.....very disturbing as I work out the equations.....

To enforce this logic. Just go on any of the Terrestrial networks right now and all you will see is some form of a train wreck of game show. People like seeing train wrecks and the masses are more easily swayed by rhetoric than truth. ESPN has done a fantastic job of swaying people into the concept that only P5 football counts and that only mega-city sports teams matter. I jump for joy every time a Kansas City wins over a New York. Because it forces ESPiN to spin KC instead of NY. Folks are gonna believe whatever is on TV. CNN is proof of that.

it defines when the answer to, "what is your major?" yielded "marketing" and I always turned around w/o saying a word with a clenched fist and teeth gritted 03-wink

many folk still understand and enjoy the psyche of the underdog.....some of us still fight even when it's futile.....living that lifestyle has taught me more about humility and respect (that I deem most important....line 3 of sig says it all) than any other.....I pine for the souls the sell out.....and I'm an atheist.....irony it is...

RE: How ESPN can improve its image after 2015...
We all have different ways of coping with it. WE are the underdogs. Always have and always will. ESPN, and others seek to not only make us irrelevant but non existent. They don't respect us and never will. ESPN cannot improve its image because it can't change its stripes. If they treated folks equally, the billions upon billions of dollars they invested in their select Conferences and Pro Leagues will evaporate. The correct name of the thread should have been "How can ESPN lie to improve its image after 2015?"

During the Mizzou debacle, kids were tweeting all sorts of nonsense. Mass hysteria. One girl was scared and tweeted a white guy in a pick-up truck was circling the parking lot. Turns out he was just looking for a parking spot. 03-lmfao

once she dropped fb as "this is just stupid Dad", I said, "sweetie, now I have one less thing to worry about....thank you for listening and paying attention!"

all social media is worse than the locusts in Utah during westward expansion....

I love twitter. I have FB, but hate it. Family lives all over the US. Social media is far better than being spoon fed this junk you see on tv. I can input my preferences through online and social media, instead of being told what to watch on ESPiN. That's the difference. I'll shy away from any political or religious opinions here, but I am certain that no matter what your preference may be, ESPN doing sports and sports only is with a general consensus.

I'm going to go a different route in thought with this en macro....it is all forms of social media that fuel that engine....everyone has 'their thoughts'....as they should....but when you share them collectively, the evil that is dollars will pounce and prey.....

see the google business model.....

I'm sorry, but social media in entirety is only akin to the dog food continually fed 24/7....the masses are too stupid to fully understand how words associated with a face impacts their future.....

think about it like this....would you now enjoy social media thirty years later when we were in hs/college?

the moguls hire the programmers to develop data and massage the sponge within the skull.....it's sickens me just from the ethics perspective.....

rant and explanation over....this one bothers me more than any other....

I don't think this would improve ESPN's image.

I don't either but I agree with Dawgxas that's what should be done.

As he said, he posted this in the wrong thread. And yes, I do agree with him. And I would take it one step further, if ESPN wants the CFP to be an event, it needs to separate it from the other bowls games. The last three college football games of the season should be the playoffs and the CG.
